Disney really should make a Star Wars What If series and explore the what ifs of that universe. What if Obi-Wan left the order for Satine... what if Qui-Gon had lived... what if anakin had waited for mace to return... etc

Did you know, in 1955 Alec Guinness (Obi Wan Kenobi)was one of the first persons James Dean showed his new Porsche to (little bastard). When Alec seen it, he "had a bad feeling about it" he said it felt sinister and looked hungry. He told James not to get in it, if he did he would be dead in a week. 1 week later James was in a head on collision with the only other car on the road and died.

This is what the show shouldve been. Episodes of Obi Wans depression and him dealing with it and this complemented alongside a vader perspective of rage and hunting down Obi wan and Jedi

He had to be going out of his mind with boredom. After the life he'd lived for years: constant stimulation violence turmoil stress. To suddenly be force more or less into retirement (at age 30?). The Dark Side would have been something to whisper to him. He should've trained Luke. Yet another thing Yoda got wrong, almost disastrously so.

Perhaps, I always saw Obi-Wan as the cool, but chill guy at the cantina if he felt social. Maybe it eased his PTSD being in solitude?

I’m surprised Maul killing Sateen right in front of Obi Wan wouldn’t have been a dark side pull moment.

That's why I don't believe Obi would ever permanently turn to the dark side. He's not immune to it but he's quick to rebound from that kind of stuff. A dark side moment for Obi would only be a moment and he'd work diligently to make sure it never happened again if it did.

It's not cause obiwan devoted himself to the jedi after learning his love wanted him as much as he loved her but he chose the jedi over his love that's why I think it's not a Parkside pull as the relationship would not work anyway

I can imagine Anakin and Obi-wan in the void of the force talking about the incident with the sand people.

This should of been in the Kenobi show

Obiwan like Yoda was too perfect a jedi, which made it hard for them to be the ones to comfort other jedis struggling with turmoil like Anakin. Their guidance would come off as cold and abrupt and seemingly impossible to achieve

Obi was the opposite, actually. He knew of Anakin's romance and didn't bring it up because it would mean problems. He knew this because he had a similar thing happen with himself. The problem was almost fully Yoda. Yoda was an old guard. Powerful, sure, wise, sometimes but intelligent? Fuck no. Lol. Yoda was implicit in how the Jedi had fallen, he played right into Sidious's hand and by the end he knew this whi ch is why he'd rather let the old Jedi order die than to repeat the mistakes he made in the future. Because lets face it, there's not a lot of difference between the Sith of old and the Jedi of new. They were the same in actions while having different ideologies.

@ericm5315 We know about Obiwan's colourful past, but he gets through it all with ease because he's so devoted to the Jedi Order. During the Clone Wars he left Anakin to solve his issues in the same way Obiwan solved his in the past (i.e. alone), plus he was busy kicking butt 24/7. He trusted that Anakin could solve things on his own and gave him space when Anakin really needed someone to break in to his inner circle of trust and confide in (eventually this person was Palpatine). Towards the end, the few times he did bring it up with Anakin, he came off too cold about it imo. This was basically a master who succeeded in the past and expected his apprentice to succeed in the same way he did. But Anakin is completely different and needed a different approach. Palpatine took the chance to swoop in. The only person who could have prevented Anakin's fall was Obiwan

Quite interesting, these stories of dark side pull are always fascinating, but I wish there were more stories about how the light pulls on dark siders. Given that the force seeks balance I always felt it strange that we typically only hear about the pull of the dark.

Well, we did hear about that in the sequel trilogy. People hated it, so we likely won’t see it again for a very long time.

Man. I like the kenobi book (legends) way better! He allied with the tuskens. Protecting them from the settlers and the settlers from them. Definitely one of the best Star Wars books. The absolute best are the Thrawn Books(especially ascendancy)

Light side comes from compassion but love and relationships are forbidden because like anger it can go to your head which is why anakins case pluss his age was the factors of his fall

Obi Wan never would turn to the dark side. I probably would have though.

Part of what makes Kenobi is his faithfulness to the Jedi order. He faced so much and never even looked to the dark side. I think it would ruin his character if there were to be any way he’d go dark.

With how bad my anger is I would have turned nigh instantly. My inner circle mean the universe to me, Anakin was practically everything to Kenobi so losing him. Stronger then me and I respect it.

Saying Obi-Wan was pulled to the dark side because of Anakin seems like a oversimplification, He wanted to strike them down for Anakin's own personal suffering at the Tsukan's hands but that wasn't what was pulling him, what pulled Obi-Wan was the fact that the Jedi had lost, that now the Sith controlled the galaxy and these raiders resembled Sith ideology this led to him giving into his anger and guilt over his own failings as a Jedi.

You can get mad/upset, but you have to let it go. The longer you stay in it the closer and closer you get to the dark side. If it’s a large amount you can sprint to the dark side, if it’s a small amount it’s like a slow crawl. But if you turn from it and let it go you stay in the light side.

Depends who is running your RPG D&D game. Otherwise, yes. Even non force sensitives can call on the Force, just a more limited number of times per day for the extra die effect on ability skill check rolls.

It wasn't Obi-Wans fault Anakin turn Vader. He was still basically a kid when he took the responsibility of training the chosen one. How did Yoda NOT intervene more? If anyone should have realized the gravity of the situation it should have been Yoda.

In Legends, the early 2000's Dark Horse comics run all Star Wars comics at the time. Then you had the novels. The whole Temple knew, only half the younglings were not old enough to understand, .. knew. Other than Anakin turning into a bind spot in the force like his daughter, Palpatine, and Mara Jade naturally could. Anakin wore his emotions on his sleeve. Everyone knew where Anakin had his safe houses when he worked on his outlaw racers.

Is it true that, qagin gin hade the plan on taking down dark sidius? It's like Anakin controlls obione when they fight duko. This means, that Ankin burned himself to get close to plpatin. Which mean, When Luke said never (to join darf vader) He meant yes! Which means, that obione show how to move his body from a place. Which yoda show Luke then! Which means. Luke controlled darf vader in the whole fight in the end.

Disney truly has killed Obi-Wan when people start to believe that he would actually turn to the Dark Side. Although he wasn't strong nor particularly talented in the Force, even Palpatine said that he was the "Perfect Jedi" because he knew that Kenobi was too indoctrinated within the Jedi ways.
