OBDLink MX+ Monitoring Your RV Tow Vehicle

#ilovervlife #obdlinkmx+ #obd2scanner With the thousands of miles Joan and I cover each year with our RV, we’ve always been concerned with the performance and monitoring of our F-350 engine and transmission when we tow our 5th wheel. Our largest concern centers around the amount of heat generate during a tow. Considering a product such as the OBDLink MX+ to monitor our engine and transmission, we were most interested in three main areas:
• Engine coolant temperature
• Engine oil temperature
• Transmission temperature
You can purchase the OBDLink MX+ here: amzn.to/2Wv1giB

Hi Donald. Go to the Dashboard in the ODBLink. At the bottom left, tap the 3 vertical dots. Click Add Display. Pick a display such as Radial Display then one of the Built-in styles. Mine defaults to vehicle speed under Item. Touch vehicle speed, in field at the top type temp. It’s a long list. My list shows Transmission Fluid Temperature (C, F). Hope that helps.

Question for you about this , I bought today cause I’m gonna be using this on my electric Mustang, and I know all the electric Mustang guys say this is the best one. My question is, this one you can leave plugged in from what I understand. It won’t kill your battery, but I was looking at their Quickstart guide online when you install this, you didn’t start the vehicle correct you just turn the vehicle on, the accessory mode? But since you can leave this plugged in all the time, I’m assuming after you set it up, it doesn’t matter if you start the car and do a scan and if you have a code at the same time, I guess you could clear that code as well with the car running just some thoughts please thank you.

Shame on Ford for not using the technology in their HD, SD trucks. My Ram has all these built in, controls on my left steering wheel, and viewed in my guages centered in front of the driver's seat. In my home state you cannot have a phone in your hand for any reason while driving. Hands free bluetooth for cals... Any truck used to tow large or heavy should have these to monitor easily, imo. Hardest part is learning your trucks normal and limits in various conditions. Good that aftermarket stepped in for your truck and others.
