OBD Scanner App Review (Best So Far)
I've tried loads of OBD scanner apps from the Play store. None of them stood out until now. "Car Scanner" was a home run. Reliable and feature packed.

Features OBD scanner app
The main ones.
-Datalogging - The app will create a CSV file of the sensors you choose so you can analyse them later with analysis software eg Racelogic,Innovate -Motorsports, AEM etc. This feature is amazing. You can use the data to analyse lap times, test sensors and much more.
-Dashboard - You can configure the screen to show the number of gauges you choose, in gauge form, digital form, scrolling graph form. You can choose the colours of everything. This is amazing, you can build your own dashboard with the same colour scheme as your factory gauges. You can also program warning lights and sounds which you can configure.
The other features
-Read and clear codes - As you would expect for any decent OBD code reader
-Acceleration, 1/4 mile, deceleration times - Surprise feature, not sure on the accuracy but its nice to have.
-Emission Tests - I think this is just a menu which does a code read of all the sensors connected to the emissions test - I think the read and clear code menu will do the same thing.
-Freeze frame - If you are getting a recurring trouble code, clear them, open this menu, start the engine and it will give you the status of all the sensors at the time the fault code comes back - Could be helpful for troubleshooting
-Non continuous sensors - I'm not sure on this feature I think you can program your own sensor. eg if your OBD scanner dongle is throwing out data which the app doesn't recognise, I think you can program the app to read it, if you know what it is.
-All sensors - As it suggests, gives you live output off all sensors. I think good to check everything is working only. The bluetooth connection can get a bit laggy if your logging all the sensors at the same time.
The features of this OBD scanner would be great if you paid for it, the fact that the basic model comes with so much stuff thrown in is amazing.
There is a limit of the trial period but its not short so you have plenty of time to see if you want to upgrade to the paid version.

Hello. My car gives P2423 code. I have a problem with the cat. I would like to investigate with details about this on my car. Does your device show info about this such as chemical levels in the exhaust gases, oxygen sensors’ data/readings such as their voltage, charts, etc? TY

If your car has a sensor for those things then it will display the data from them. It depends on your specific car as to what sensors you have.
Could we insert this on the car during it run? And could we obtain the data in our PC using 3G?
Have you tried to read the ABS sensors values? I have a pro version of the Car Scanner and my OBD Adapter support "Live Data" readings , but when I select the "Live data " in app, it does not give me any readings from the sensors.

I dont get that option either. Maybe its not covered under OBD.
I just got this one, using it with the first car scanner unit I've ever tried. It was $12 on Amazon and it seems to work fine. Still learning what to do and how to work this but I want to use it to scan cars I'm looking at buying. The only issue I had was trying to connect with my 2010 Chevy HHR LS. It was impossible to determine which profile to choose from. That didn't happen with my 2013 Mazda CX-5 AWD Touring. I chose the first Chevy one and it didn't work at all. The second one is listed for other models. Anyone know what to do on this?

General Motors is a messed up brand with way too many quality issues but I didn't know it would be that messed up for OBD2 scanning. That seems like a no-brainer that should be simple and automatic to connect to OBD2 software. But...issues. Won't work.

When I connect in the app, it automatically selects the protocol for the car.

does it give you a really in depth information of faults rather than the cheap scanners that just give you a code?

it gives different levels to the fault code scan that it does. but it gives warnings, especially if you have VAG group cars. I think you need to know what you are doing to do more than a basic scan.
Can you use this app too do a forced regen please. I have the obd 11 wireless

I have a Isuzu NPR that wouldn’t do a regen do to the codes that where stored. What I did was clear all the codes and then the vehicle did the regen. But in the app i did not see a feature to force the regen.
Hello mate I'm trying to find a obd2 reader for my VW mk5 08 1.9. Seen this app and thought what's the Bluetooth adapter? Any help

I like the vGate iCar2. Does everything I want but there are newer ones available. eg I think there is an iCar3 out now but I haven't tried it.
have you ever use Torque Pro and compare it?

It works very well with my 2013 Suzuki Splash. Be aware that the OBD scanner has three leds on the long face and when inserted into the car's OBD socket they point towards the floor. No great shakes if the B/Tooth connection to phone (ie screen) is working but (some of) these leds are likely to be on 24 hours if left connected. Not entirely sure if this will affect the battery over time!
I've heard the words car scanner, good app this app. but I never heard the name of the app. but do they make them to scam OBD 1 ?

you need a obd scanner that works with wifi connection for iphone, bluetooth works only with android phones, laptops, etc

This is just has lousy as the BlueDriver.
