Mccarols drumming is badass! He gave Oasis a really raw, punk sound.

You got that to! Mccarols powerhouse backbone I’ve seen it in kasabian’s drummer although they kept him - once mccarol left it was the end - he held the venom of the beat pure and simple 💯
@buddhull
3 жыл бұрын
@@deluxeasstandard1969 I agree with you both. The simple, heavy handed drumming drove the material to a looser, more manic sound which helped enforce the edge they had from 91-95. It’s probably true he couldn’t do some of the WTSMG tracks, but they’re the non-preferable tracks to me, anyway.

This song is great. Half the b-sides from the first two albums were just as good as the album tracks. Imagine if they hadn't wasted the songs on b-sides, and the third album was 1.)Aquiesce 2.)It's Good to Be Free 3.)D'you Know What I Mean? (Edited down a bit) 4.)Talk Tonight 5.)Rockin' Chair 6.)Don't Go Away 7.)Fade Away 8.)Half the World Away 9.)Stand By Me 10.)Underneath the Sky 11.)Headshrinker 12.)All Around the World (Edited down) 13.)The Masterplan I'd have bought that album!

Tony McCarrol is just water tight on those drums. What a great drumming sound. I wish Noel had gave him a chance to record Morning Glory. That was a horrible episode in Oasis history the way this guy was treated. God bless you Tony mate

Noel was brutal but even Tony himself said Liam and Bonehead were sound with him… and Bonehead and Liam said he just couldn’t get it, they were in the studio for hours, vocals, lead guitar, rhythm and bass guitars done ages ago, waiting for Tony to get the drums and it was costing them. Noel is quite emotionless at times and pulled the plug. It’s harsh as fuck but they needed to do it to reach the next stage.

Yep, just a pity Tony was appallingly unable to maintain time over and over. If you listen carefully, to each of his performances, they are almost always different, not only in terms of time, but intensity of the beat. For a producer, a living ‘mare when trying to lay down tracks with inconsistent drumming. Hence why he had to be cut. I’m not saying he cannot play drums. He’s proven that enough in their early tracks, but one of the main somewhat underlying roles of the drummer is to maintain tine, over and again. When it varies, even by a half second, or hits the high hat instead of snare, it throws all the other musicians accompanying him. Stevie White smoked it, no question. Sticks in hands, he’s ready, and he was off! Great memories for sure. 😎🤩👌🏽

You got that to! Mccarols powerhouse backbone I’ve seen it in kasabian’s drummer although they kept him - once mccarol left it was the end - he held the venom of the beat pure and simple 💯

Anyone who talks crap about Oasis. Listen to this. It’s live. They sound great. Liam is the worlds last true Rock Star.

+dbo514 I don't understand how they can be a 'top 5' rock band majority of their songs are middle of the road snore fests... I mean the first two Oasis albums are masterpieces...then all down hill from there. It's like Noel exhausted his best songwriting after 1995.
I seriously believe this is in Oasis top 5 performances Gousebumps eveytime
I always think to myself that there is no way Oasis have anymore unbelievably good songs as there is already too many... and then I stumble across this. They were too good man
Tony's punk drumming.. yeah yeah yeah!!!

Loved Tony on the drums. In my opinion they went a big downhill after Tony got sacked. My favorite albums are Definitely Maybe and the Masterplan, both with Tony on drums. Loved his sludge hammer form of drumming.
Liam absolutely has it here. At the top of his game. Such an underrated song.
How many other bands would go on a tv show early in their career and play b-sides? It shows just how great this band was!
Damn, Liam's voice is THE shit here. Pure Rock n' Roll.
I remember watching this in my bedroom.I was only 16. It was on 10pm.I taped it on video as well. I was completely blown away..I was into them anyway but I was just captivated by Liam.Such stage presence & magnetism.
