+Casper Jean Rimbaud Looking back, I really like it. "Eh Fuck it, our music stands on its own, we don't have to move around." And it does. Not that I didn't love the bands that jumped around and trashed their own sets afterwards, but Oasis intentionally being the utter opposite of that at a time when that was the trend (and, thanks to Kurt, almost the law) was definitely really cool. Whether they meant it to be a STATEMENT or not (I don't recall), it was.

I remember Noel saying in another interview that he always sat on the end of the bed and played his guitar, and when the time came for him to perform standing up, he didn't know what to do so he just stood still. And I guess that sort of became his statement.

i used to think it was attitude, but no. they played like this cuz they rehearsed 5 times a week for 3 or 4 years before getting a record deal. they got used to it. so their gigs are just like their rehearsals, but open to the public. success is what made it be called "attitude", if they weren't successful, people would call them losers who can't entertain a crowd.

Tony was notorious for speeding up the tempo as the songs went on (see Slide Away) so that by the end the songs would be something like 5 BPM faster than what they started. He probably just figured fuck it and started the tempo as he would eventually build into it which caught Noel off guard. I can understand why Noel would be pissed off especially as the lead guitarist having to adjust his tempo to whatever Tony decided, but I think Tony had the right idea that Oasis should be played fast. I unironically prefer this live version to the album version of Supersonic as it doesn’t drag too much. Giving Noel total reign over the tempo was what led to Stand By Me and All Around The World going on forever.

I watch this every single day because it’s simply the best recording of Supersonic that was ever made, the sound of the guitars is epic thank you Mark Coyle🙌🏻😀

Anthony McCarroll is the best Supersonic drummer, hands down. That bit at the end with Noel is epic.
