In it, he explains some of the things you need to consider for live steam as well as how to integrated the line into a garden. You will get a tour of the line as well as several of the best video clips of running sessions over they years. What a lovely layout - and great to see elements of the original Crewchester preserved and being used as intended. Jack Ray’s books broadened my interest from vintage Hornby 0 and live steam has since led me to Bassett Lowke and Bowman - maybe one day I’ll build something that steams… Thanks Dave for hosting this and Graham for creating this setting for the great live steam videos you post. I also loved Graham’s write up in the Gauge 0 Guild Gazette 👍

Thanks for your comments. Yes it’s great to see Crewchester station continuing into its 70th year. As you know from Grahams GoG Gazette I made a KZread video of Platinum Jubilee running and celebration of Crewchester. Don’t be afraid of starting your own live steamer.

This is an inspiration. I love my Bowmans, but i've got to learn to solder and machine stuff too. Beautiful, beautiful things.

There is great satisfaction in making a working steam locomotive. Have a go :-) BTW if you are a Gauge O Guild member, there is an active live steam group on the Guild Forum.

Do you fit your own batteries and r/c or do you know someone who can fit it? Excellent layout! 👍

Answering on Graham's behalf, he does the installation himself. but uses equipment from Fosworks (Steve Foster). I've used his Omni range for a couple of my locos to great success. Graham has the Tx4.10R allowing him to control up to 10 locomotives from the one handset. I use NiMH batteries BTW.

Thank you, I am thinking of going in to o gauge, maybe steam one day but I don’t want all the hassle associated with 2 / 3 rail pick up. Much appreciated. 👍

I think it would be good if you could put more content on about the way things work rather than just watching trains go by

Timothy, Thanks for your comment. FYI I made a video on how to raise steam which can be found at kzread.info/dash/bejne/hYOCqMqxc8isqJM.html. This covers the process of how to raise steam with an internally fired high pressure live steam engine. This video was Graham telling the story of his incarnation of Crewchester and his motivation.

Timothy, in my latest video on O gauge live steam I have included some shots of people attending their locos as well as trains going by. It also includes attempts at prototypical operation with engines waiting for conflicting movements to complete etc. I hope you enjoy kzread.info/dash/bejne/oId80JODc8itktY.htmlsi=iY1qy6BrAvMotD7K
