I always check my kids KZread history and I found my 9yr old son watching you so now my whole family and I are learning NZSL .
Thank you for making the video so easy to follow! I have autism which means I can become mute for periods of time. Although we just call it going nonverbal. I’m trying to learn to help myself express what I need help with when I’m in those situations and your videos are fun to watch :}
G’day Annalia - my best mate is going deaf so making an effort to learn NZSL. Awesome video - will watch the rest! Cheers from Wellington :)
I live in the United States and speak some American Sign Language! But I'm thinking of studying abroad in New Zealand and I'd love to learn NZSL for when I'm there. Glad I've found some of the basics--gonna look up more from Deaf teachers to get more detail! Thank you!
Thankyou so much for making this video. I am a homeschooling Mama and my eldest (age 4) has recently begun copying the sign language she sees on the Wiggles so I thought it was time to teach her NZSL. Your videos make it easy, approachable and straightfoward, thanks :)
OH my god I am 18 and am obsessed with well New Zealand!! And I really wanted to learn sign language so here I am!! Any recommendations on how I can learn NZSL online? Also, you're really good at it already! One thing I've got to learn, is involving more facial expressions and I thought it was really interesting how you can communicate so much better in sign when you're face is expressing well. I realised how, in spoken communication, the expressions are really really non existant!

Awesome! There are many online websites where you can pay for courses...I know of NZSL4U (www.nzsl4u.co.nz/upcoming-courses/), as well as Merge (www.mergenz.co.nz/book-online) - and there's many more too! Keep learning, go well :)
Thank you sooo much!!

Aww how awesome you guys get to do it together ❤️ I’ve put the link in the description of the video, but I use LearnNZSL :)
Hi I have a question. When you sign your name, does the signing face me or towards your perspective? And since I’m right handed, do I sign on my right hand?
@AnnaliaGrace

Hey! You can use whatever hand feels comfortable, and so that will determine which way the letter faces (towards your perspective or me). So it doesn’t really matter as long as you have the right hand formation/shape. Just make sure the other person can clearly see what you’re signing :)

Good Luck you interested Learn NZSL
Thanks for doing this video I learned so much and I also spelled my name 🐣🐣🐣
your videos are lovely. BUT it would be a good idea to get your videos checked over by a NZSL teacher/tutor before you post them, as not all your signs or info are correct in your videos.

I appreciate your comment, thank you :) I was just showing the signs that I had learnt off of the learnNZSL webpage (which might be outdated?), but I am aware that my grammar in the first part is most likely incorrect. I do apologise if this offended you in any way, but I do appreciate the advice!

@@AnnaliaGrace Learnnzsl is still perfectly fine but it's difficult to sign accurately without a teacher present to correct you. For example, though you got the hand shapes correct for Q and Y, the way you twisted your arm around was incorrect. And when you said you are eighteen, you used the sign "EIGHTEEN" and not "EIGHTEEN-YEARS-OLD". Hope you get to take classes soon they are so amazing!!!
Zed. Not zee. Zed. Unless you live in En Zee.
