I don’t get people anyways who claim to posses something like a way someone has to be to be a skater. He could wear pink leggings and go to every high society party there is, like wtf do people care? It’s just plain stupid. Especially, since skateboarding is about freedom n stuff. Kinda contradictory to say there’s one way to go about it.

​@@profoundwanderer1441 I went to x games for like 5 straight years when it was in LA. Nyjah was signing autographs and chillin with everyone for a 1/2 hour+ at every one. He talked and made you feel like one of the homies you'd see skating around town. That was quite some time ago so I don't know if he's changed, but dude was super cool to me and everyone then. Definitely wasn't a d bag then.

I was at the video premiere for that in Hollywood and remember thinking, damn, this kid is seriously good. Fast forward, what, like 20 years now. I'm 40 with a heel spur and he's still crushing it, like next level crushing it. Badass.

@@BackflipinBrandon Are you sure you're not thinking of Mullen? Rodney's dad didn't want him to skate because he thought skateboarding was for bums and was too dangerous. Nyjah's dad was a skater himself and pushed Nyjah to skate at a very young age. He made him skate pretty much every single day. They did move to Puerto Rico at one point which caused issues for Nyjah with Element due to the distance, but I don't think his dad ever tried to stop him from skating.

I'd say his full cab back nose blunt down that giant hubba and his 5.0 down the long curved rail are 2 of his craziest imo.

yes and no, definitely a memorable moment du to nyjah's last attempt, him landing it and winning the gold but not a narliest trick... if aurelien hardflip late flip would have made him won you wouldn't see nyjah's hardflip as a mement in skate history... aurelien's trick was narly af which in my opinion should easily have been good enough for gold !

I remember the way handrails accelerate you *at the ground* at warp speed. My brain still has fast reaction times, but handrail wizards are 10x faster and then some.

Yesterday at the skatepark I gave some young skaters a lesson in Nyjah Huston after the battle scars came out. They didn’t know him so showed them Til Death, Fade to Black, and my personal favorite, Cab to nose blunt down Clipper

I usually leave a party to go home and play video games or something - the Nyj' went to Hollywood 16 to casually film an ender and then returned to the party. Safe to say there's levels to this.

Nyjah is the MJ of skateboarding, has definately broken the boundaries in skateboarding over past two decades. What a legend. Happy I grew up watching him skate
