I’ve been doing this manually for so many years…… god damn and always difficult when ever nvidia changes file layouts in the packages. GOd damn this was such a breeze you’re a legend.

This even works on my Alienware 18 R1 model, fixed my No Man's Sky driver outdated bug to now launching and plays good.

Thanks again, your videos are keeping my old M18X R2 alive. Sure makes updating drivers for my 1080 so much easier.

Hi, I have a Toshiba Qosmio X70-A with a GTX 770M MXM Card installed. I also have 2 spare gpus laying around. A GTX 970M and a GTX 1060M. I want to upgrade my gpu to one of these cards, but im unsure if the 1060M will work.... I have seen on userbenchmark and a handful of other sites that a GTX 980M and a 970M can work on a Qosmio laptop with modifying the nvidia INF files as you have done in the video. The question is if my laptop would recognise the 1060m... have looked at older Alienware laptops on userbenchmark in which I found a GTX 1070M working on an Alienware 17 R1... Would a 1060M work on my qosmio? Thank you.

Excellent tutorial. Just one thing: as you checked the "rebuild digital signature" option, you don't necessarily need to disable "driver signature enforcement" in Windows

interesting, does this mean this is a workaround for the need for different sli auto on non cerified motherboards? (running nvidia cards on a ep45-ud3p) i'd love to be able to play a couple of my games anticheat is keeping me out of for being in test mode

can I install latest 526 drivers version on GTX 780 with this method? Im asking cuz I already tried ini editing methods from different videos on youtube, I managed to install the drivers however, the display didnt accepted it, control panel didnt showed up, and my CPU was used instead of GPU for display, some people said its the latest drivers that have some new features and hence cant be installed even with ini editing, but older then 500 serires drivers can be installed.

Thank you so much! I was trying to upgrade the GPU in a Dell Precision M6800 running Windows 11 Pro from a Quadro K4100M to a Quadro M4000M. It kept giving me a weird error in device manager saying "the graphics device starting is not the same as the POSTed display adapter" and it was driving me insane.

Please what driver can I use for my GT 720M please... It's not compatible with my Adobe softwares ... Please Help

This gave me a black screen and I had to restore in safe mode. No big deal or anything but maybe I did something wrong? I have GTX 780M I went for 770 too because mine also had 1536 I used identical nvcleanstall settings my screen blinked a couple times and then it all went black for a long time. Any ideas? It’s installing desktop driver for laptop. Also you can install some other desktop card that’s not officially supported

Hi Man, great video! I have a sligtly different problem wich probably will arrive at the inf mod step, but first there is another issue. I have a notebook workstation, the HP Elitebook 8770W, that i upgraded to a 3980XM cpu plus 32Gb RAM and 3 Samsung EVO SSDs. I’m on Windows 7 Pro 64bit btw! Now i want upgrade the old K3000M (2GB) nVidia graphic card to an nVidia K5100M (8GB) i purchased in eBay… BUT the first problem is that the graphic card don’t show up in the hardware resource panel 😢 so i’m a step back from the driver install problem. I know the all the problem is a kind of “matketing” thing because HP want that all the replacing parts for that notebook comes from HP. Do you know any workaround for this problem? TNX.

I would check to see if laptop is in Optimus mode or iGPU only mode. If you swap old GPU back and it works then maybe the K5100M is bad or needs a vBIOS flash

@@cs.studios Wow tnx for your reply Man. The old card works ok. I think it's a vBIOS prob (but just a "marketing" thing like notebook vendors vs. graphic card anifacturer, HP wprkstation are very "locked" and picky in this!). But i can't imagine how perform a vBios update in a card that the pc won't see at all. And then - after that - maybe i need to tweack the inf file of the driver. What i know is that the HP Elitebook existed in a K5100M (and more $$$) version (from the factory). Do you know how can i perform a vBios check and mod/update in this situation?

It's impressive, but the GT 1030 carry a GK 107 yet... The same gpu of my GT 650m lol

Sorry but 700 series are completed unsupported by nvidia now. Nothing we can do about at this point.

Also I used nvflash to flash a vbios and used this great video to make sure drivers installed... Thought that info might help you out.

This is mainly for people who have laptops that have been upgraded. For example if my laptop came with a 680M and I upgraded to 980M it is required to mod inf every driver install. There are also some cards on aliexpress used for mining I believe those also require this mod to be turned into a GeForce card.

Hope this is not installing virus?
