DDU is an unsung hero and has got me out of so many problems when swapping out in the past, even when swapping an AMD card for another AMD card ! Before I install a new GPU I always do a fresh install of Windows. Could be one reason I've never had any driver issues.

@@OlettaLiano Hold on... the short bus was my bus. I was "special". Besides, no bullies on the bus.

i downloaded my chosen drivers, and DDU. 1. swapped GPU. 2. run DDU. 3.Delete drivers with the wipe and restart option. 4. ran my chosen drivers. 5. all done. didnt turn off wifi and downloaded drivers before i even deleted my old drivers, worked spot on, resolution never changed upon restart. also on DDU, im from the uk and used Netherland option. Fantastic video.

Replace my RX 5700XT with a Nvidia card? NEVER! 🤣 I'm getting that PC building itch again. I'm really thinking of building a water cooled custom desk PC. That would be the perfect place to put a new Ryzen 5950X and 6000 series GPU. For water cooling I think I'd go with an EKWB EK-Quantum Kinetic FLT 360 Pump/Reservoir Combo, a couple 360mm radiators, a dozen or so high static pressure fans. That should be a fun project for next year. Cheers!

Radeon is fine for benchmarks but for actual games and productivity tasks nvidia is so far ahead it isn't even funny anymore

Hi Mike! I'm going the other way around, swapping from NVIDIA to AMD and I did go through all the steps with DDU (except I went and removed Physx [lazy to check spelling]), so, I go through all of it, pop in my card, connect the power cable, my DVI (monitor has no HDMI) cable, turn the power on, hit the power button, fans spin, LED above the 8pin on GPU is blue but I get no post and not even backlight on the monitor. Now, my setup is a bit sketchy and both the PSU and GPU are second hand. GPU was tested and it worked (allbeit tested with HDMI port, not DVI when I was buying it), PSU works but it's sketchy brand I never heard of that some guy threw in when me and my dad brought him the PC for upgrades. Now, I am tempted to say PSU can't deliver the power and buy a new one from a reputable brand but I would like you or other good people in the comments to help me sort of narrow it down. Did I kill my GPU? Is there a chance that faulty DVI connector could cause such problems? Is the sketchy 600W PSU that promisses 576W over 5x 12V outputs to blame? Also the cable from PSU to GPU is 6 pin on PSU side with 6+2 pin on GPU side.

i would just disable the onboard APU in the BIOS after installing the card then load into windows and install the nvidia drivers. If that doesn't work then DDU it

No need, you should be able to just add your new video card then install the nvidia drivers

Are you smelling my troubles??? Bought a RX 5600 XT last Saturday which gave me green screens with the usual reboot of my system. Swapped it out to another RX 5600 XT yesterday and that one is giving me black screens like a plague. Tried it and got tired of AMD, tomorrow this card will be swapped to a nVidia card.

Did anyone else's cpu fans stop spinning upon following this process? Everything gpu related works perfectly fine but I cannot get my cpu air cooler fan to spin anymore. I have an msi meg x570 unify mobo and my fan is plugged into the cpu fan header. I'm assuming the issue is somewhere in my bios but I can't identify the fan issue when I check the fans. Please help!!!!

Hey Mike, i was just wondering if you could swap from a amd gpu to a nividia gpu by installing the nividia drivers and then using amds clean up utility tool to get rid of the amd drivers and then install the gpu and drivers? Does that work? And why is there no Australian version of ddu? What would I download?

you could try that way, these days because of APUs and onboard graphics AMD software has to co-exist with nvidia so it might not be such an issue now. the DDU software is not language dependant so just get it from the closest region for speed. all the downloads are exactly the same file just hosted in different regions

question, do i need to have a backup as it says on the installer? like if something goes wrong what is going to happen
