I still don’t understand what it does exactly? I’m confused because I briefly owned a Rat pedal to see if it would work for me and I remember it being a fizzy/fuzz like distortion not great for Metal with more flabby palm mutes opposed to the tight palm mutes you get from an overdriven amp with a tubescreamer or SD-1 in front. I just trying to understand more in depth what he’s trying to explain here.

​@@jacobsamano9761yes. But also, that tone circuit is different than say TS. I usually put on 9 and its bright enough. I put on on clean amp and its a pretty low mid gain crunch

Kurt from Crowbar uses the MetalZone pedal the same way with the distortion off. More like a overdrive. Nuno does that muted attack while soloing, I think it makes the bass/ percussion on the strings stand out more ….for him.
