best video! its good to see the platter works like a cdj 1000 for a better price.
Thank you Mr. Cato for another awesome review.
Wow impressed by the features.great video
Man thanks for sharing this great video. You did a great job showing how much you can do with this thing. i now know which unit I want to buy. I am on a budget and this things ROCKS.
Hi i liked your video and ur lil mix...=)...i have the ndx800 just got it a few weeks ago and love it. Just wish i could learn to do some of the stuff you were doing on it. Keep up the videos.
Andre, cheers for the Video mate it's very informative and straight to the point.. I was actually waiting for a video like that for a while as i wanted to buy a couple of these units and now i've made up my mind and definitely getting them
just bought a pair of these. beautiful pair of cdjs. i would say these are 2nd to pioneer.
@0a0b0c22 Hey, Yes the NDX800 does work as a controller, it has a USB port at the back of the unit to run MIDI messages to your favourite DJ software so you can set it up as a controller. You can't use the CD player and controller at the same time, This is because they are different modes, so its one or the other. You could however have one NDX setup as a controller and another as a CD player if wanted, or you could switch between control and CD modes if needed.
Yeah, the 900 really was an upgrade to the 800, so I am not surprised they are similarly priced, even with the extra features. Good to hear you found a good deal mate!
no problem mate will do that. Thanks for your help
There is an old saying in Brazil that says "Who's mouth goes to Rome". In times of internet you can change to 'Who is Google discovers everything "... hahahahah I know the song "Hey Hey" Master of the House intelligence: Mr. Dennis Ferrer .. anyway agreadecido much for making me happy! Keep Deep!
@MrDJdanil "... you can also engage Key Lock, which holds the pitch of the track while you independently manipulate its BPM" so yes, it has
thank you for this video :) one question: would you recommend this baby to someone who is just about to start the whole dj thing? what else would you recommend? I'm planning buying 2*Numark ndx800 and Pioneer djm400? what do you think about this kombination/choice? I must honestly say that I would prefer to buy cd players from Pioneer but the budget is not that big :) hope you can answer my questions. greetings from Germany :)
These look great, I was going to buy Pioneer CDJ850s, which I think are the cheapest available in their current rage (roughly AUD $940), these look like they can work just as well, maybe the don't have all the same features but the important stuff is here! Thanks for the review! I'm thinking 2 of these players would go nicely with an IM9 Mixer :)
@rzr3k Yup, the unit will show you Track Title on the display, provided you have the Tagging info there for your audio file.
Great video , can this run on virtual dj, and if yes what will i need to connect it up? Thanks
I'm looking to get back on the DJ scene but a lot this stuff is new to me. I like the NDX800's and was thinking of picking up a pair along w/ the Cue software & the DMC2 controller. I was wondering if you can give me some advice as to what kind of mixer I should get w/ it & what kind of laptop I should be looking for to run the software.
@beacon1045 You do. these are single table top units, so you do need 1 for each track you want to play...
@madmandidhe . The C.324 is a few years older than this unit, but it was quite popular for Stanton back a few years back... You could use any CD player as a beginner, it all depends on what you want to do with your DJing. Then you can work out what features look good for your style. Send me a message/email if you want to discuss options. Cheers Andre Cato
@TheDjvultik No, not with Serato Scratch as a controller or Itch, it would work with Serato Scratch with the DVS Control CDs though... But not as a USB midi controller, which is what I think you mean...
@TheDjvultik Any DVS, or you can map it to anything with MIDI also...
@MrScratchable You can indeed use the side of the jog dial to pitch bend in vinyl mode.
@andrecato hey what was that song you were using to demonstrate it was awesome!
Wow sick demo tough choice between 400s and 800s now. O ye whats the track you used it was brilliant!
Excellent Video mate, very informative. Do you think it is worth the money to upgrade to the ndx800 from the ndx400? Is there really that much of a difference between the two?
Yup, know what you mean now, its just that you made this comment about the NDX800 comment above. There are two different platter colours for the NDX800, this is what was being discussed in the comment you replied to! Was not comparing to the 900, but yes, there is also a USB audio RCA connection on the 900. Hope this makes sense for you!
@themredr You can indeed. Push the MODE button and get into Sample mode, then you can record parts. You don't need the mixer volume to do this, so yes, you can have it silent to your audience from another player.....
Hi Is there any diiference between the ndx800's that have the black platter to the one's that have the silver platter? Many thanks
Alright there, great video, was just wondering, if i wanted to hook two of these ndx 800's up to my mac, would they definately work as i've got traktor? I'd use an external mixer aswel... Thanks :)
@HitchHikersBlues Sure you can, it works as a MIDI controller, so anything with MIDI will talk to its controls...
@hoozurdaddylo I wouldn't compare them... One is a CD/Media player, the other is a Serato or VDJ control surface. If you are asking what I would choose? I would choose a V7 as its stronger, has way cool controls and ultimately more versatile with software in my opinion.
haha dope video buddy, explained a lot! I've done my research now, I think im gonna buy this one this week, just a couple questions. I want to use this to control Serato Scratch live so I can use it with Ableton as "the bridge" I'm thinkin I'll need the serato soundcard interface but will I need a timecode CD as well? or will it be able to control it well enough through midi only?
@Samwhitby1 Yup, just setup the NDX800's as control devices and use external mixer mode! Done
@boblmao Totally mate, they are selling like icecream in the summer thanks to the great reliability and features. They are great units.
Hi I am getting into becoming a dj and was wondering do I need a mixer and two of the ndx 800 in order to get started or can I just buy the ndx800 to get started and learn the basics??? please help I need to know before xmas that would be awesome
@greenbaker21 ... Hi mate, you can indeed, feel free to ask any questions you like, myself or someone on here will be able to help :) The plugging into a computer is an added bonus to this player, do it and you can then control DJ software on your computer... But it is great, just as a CD and Media player
Please you can do a video about the ndx 900, thanks
em can you use like 4 0f these to control one piece of software , like so you can have each deck playing different songs
nice vid but.. could you pitch bend on the side of the jog wheel in vinyl mode (scratch mode) greetz Beatmaster R2B
@andrecato thanks. just finished ordering mine off amazon (y)
What are the major differences between NDX400? thanks
Im thinking of getting either a numark mixdeck or 2 ndx800 with an m1mixer.. Which one you suggest would be better and has a higher level of djing?
can you do the Review for Numark MIxtrack Pro,i know there is Review for Idj3 and that are these controllers similiar but i'd like to hear your opinion.
The best video of the ndx 800! Thank You I have one question: Can you sample parts of a track while another track is playing?
Thanks found your review really helpful! Still cant decide whether to get a pair of these new, or a second hand pair of CDJ400s. any ideas?
What prefer the new ndx800 or a pionner cdj-350???
Great video! a question, does the nex 800 have master tempo function? Thanks .
ur kinda some what right if u look at the back of it the 900 has the USB line out input that the 800 doesnt have
you said it works with "your favorite dj software" does it work with virtual dj
Hi i'm thinking of getting a dj but not really sure what to get i was look at the C 324 by stanton thats one of the main ones i am thinking of getting have you got any idea's for which dj i should start oh and i'm only a begginer for djing
@HitchHikersBlues No, this unit works well as a media player
Hello question its better the ndx800 than the pionner cdj 350
can you plug this up to your computer and use itunes. Also can you rewind or forward to a different point in the song??? Thanks
@talljake Its personal preference, you seem to get more value for money with Numark as you don't pay for the massive name of Pioneer, but Pioneer does have advantages as it is used in every club, so sets you up to be able to feel at home when you get into a club, if that is what you are trying to do.
@GreatALAD The NDX!!! If you are using a software based DJ system, of course you will have to look at the Laptop Screen, but the NDX effects show up on the NDX screen and the Software effects show up on computer...
Ok i think that i would like to do mixing and looping and cueing i don't really want to do it for people just for fun with friends so what should i get if thats what i'll be doing.
@Skillz1774 Yup sure, you just need the control CDs for SSL
@andrecato in the nx800 screen? or the laptop screen?
@andrecato Okay mate thankyou!
@boucantier12 yes they also save your hot looops but i don't know sure the samples cause I tested it in a store and I needed to stop cause i was there 1 hour mixing :p
nice vid. but i have a question, almost 90% reviews i've read on this ndx800 are saying this player is compatible with vdj,traktor,etc.. but none cant seem to get it to work.can you post a vid of the player working with a software. i want to get 2 of these since its able to have cd/mp3/usb/midi but im leaning towards the v7, just need another opinion or advise. thanks
if u were to compare this player vs the v7 what would you say?
I'm considering buying two NDX800. I'm a newbie so I've been asking more experienced djs on forums and such. Most of them seems to be really into Pioneer. I've been looking around and I feel like the NDX800 would be great for me to start with since I want my cdj at a fair price but still with good features. The other djs are however making me a bit insecure. Can anyone tell me why I should buy NDX800?
do you recommend buying the ndx800 x2 with a special imxer or do you just recommend me buying the mixdeck :D Hope you could answer!
Hey, I really can't remember, I had the NDX800 on loan to do a review and am not entirely sure, best to check with a few users who are actually using it with the new Traktor Pro 2. Numark do have a very good system for MIDI control, so I would assume it is very good as their controllers have great control response etc... Sorry I could not be more help.
Hey Andre looking to get a pair of these to use with traktor pro. Question is are they responsive in midi mode any latency with platters, pitch etc? Thanks
Can you get this hooked up to your computer and get itunes songs to scratch on this?
Very helpful video Andre. Like always ;)
can you plug this up to you computer and scratch songs that you get off of itunes????
Andre, I know you are the Numark guy and I for one appreciate your reviews. i am in the market to update my equipment and the NDX800 is on my shortlist along with the mixdeck. but i have also found the Reloop RMP3 to be in my price range also. Reloop is new to the states but i have read and seen great thing about it . if you have any experience with the Reloop line, Please give an opinion
What is the cheapest price you've seen for a new one of these? I'm looking into buying 2 as well as an equalizer.
if i was to purchase 2 of these, based on the fact i already have a djx700 mixer. what else would i need in order to use it like a mac controller? thanks alot!
what external hard drive is that? the silver one with orange rubber.also where can u get it?
do you need two of these to mix tracks...
I am looking for a 3rd Cd table mainly for acapellas and melos but also for some quick transitions, I think the review was perfect and it convinced me however, does it have a pitch lock (master tempo on cdj) so when you increase the tempo the pitch will stay the same, it looks like the key lock maybe it but i cant be sure on that if anyone knows, your help is very appreciated
are the ndx 900 a better deck do they have same features
hi mate. do you mean the tone of vocals and music gets higher when you speed up the tempo using the pitch control? cos they have a master tempo button to prevent that. (thats if i understood you right)
@fuatskyline i think mainly effects tbh
where doea it appear you which effect you're using?
@canthaguild These feel more professional than a twin CD deck, but you can certainly use Twin if it suits your needs, or if you are planning to simply use as a mobile DJ. I prefer the individual players, but like I said, its all personal preference and down to how much you want to spend!
How accurate is the PITCH on this table?
can u use vdj
@HitchHikersBlues Well, you certainly don't, but remember a laptop does a lot more than a single CD player can! Digital DJing is the way of the future for sure and you can also check your twitter account!!!!! This is a CD player, so doesn't require anything except a CD for its source...
@andrecato Can i use serato scratch live with it ???
yo can u hook up turntables to this? btw, do you know of anything similar to the numark MIXDECK, like a universal DJ controller with the CD players and USB setup?
Hi andré... great job... can you pls do a review on ndx 900... as midi controller... i´m having some issues about midi functions. I´m using a vms4 on tkt pro 2 and recently bought a ndx 900... since the LE version is a dowgrade, i didnt istalled.... how can i use it as a deck?...must i change to scratch pro... should it be as a cd player or as a midi controller.... Does the ndx 900 control the effects on traktor as controller or its just a deck..? Can you please help me on this matter? tks
does this thing does Scratch/cue, so you search for a cue point in scratch mode and make it a cue point?
That seems pretty logical to me, but I will dj without a computer, just from a usb stick, is there maybe a device i can hook up to my ndx 800s that just show the graph?
@sergiothe1ne . As always, it was my pleasure!
A quick question - can you hold que and the tap play to keep it going? :)
Ummm, no, both the different coloured NDX 800's have the same USB MIDI port, as does the 900. Unless you mean something else? What do you mean by the USB line out input? You mean the MIDI port I assume? This is used to control software.
hey man, ive been meaning to buy a pair of cd players, ive noticed that the ndx800 is considerably chaper than any of pioneers cdj's, im at entry level and as im 17 im on a tight budget. would you recommend a pair of these for someone like me? cheers m8
@andrecato cheers mate, england thinks your awsome!!!
@Ethan894 Sure does
has it got reverb effect?
@Tageolsson You sure can, that is a pretty standard feature of most CD players these days...
hey pal. im looking for turntables i can conect to my computer. i can allready record to my comp but i wanna use my comp as music source to the turntable. can this be done on the ndx 800? because i cant do it on my pionner cdj800's. thanks
@Tanmanshredstar666 Yup mate you can.
@MisterRyanLamers Its a Rugged Lacie drive.... YUMMY!
@HitchHikersBlues So you don't want to use the CD? Don't buy this if you don't want to use the CD or media. Buy a V7 if you want to simply have a great Virtual DJ controller!
