Nuku'alofa rebuild. Takai meets with Finau.

In 1806 William Mariner stopped off in Tonga in the Ha'apai Islands where most of the adults on his ship were slaughtered by the natives. He becomes adopted by the King Chief and General of Tonga and raised by the youngest wife of that King, Finau 'Ulukalala, a native of Ha'apai. This is his story.

In Fiji going into almost famin is still practiced since families are required to give so that the guests are well fed. No one cooks during a death, the family will go through thick and thin to feed mourners

I was just going to type that. The words are conniving, manipulative, and deception. We been doing it for years but in this context it is cunning mind games for advantage in war.

Earing another human was said to have gained their mana their energy in other words. Fijians were notorious for cannibalism. Samoans have stories of it Same as the tongans If I'm right in Uvea in the tongan forts a large cooking place apparently called Umu Tangata.. fijians may have influenced samoans and tongans with that as the 3 have been crossing paths since the start.

The village my mom’s family comes from in Tonga (Fo’ui) is nicknamed “umu tangata” because the stories I was told was Fo’ui was known apparently for having warriors & cooking/eating their enemies when killing them in battle.
