    One additional step to make service easier is to mount the bracket to a plywood sheet and add drawer slides. Then you can pull it out of the cabinet for service. Perhaps worth considering because over the years. this will be done many times.

    It's best to remove the membrane and leave that cartridge empty and then flush the system of the carbon dust from the new carbon filters. Let that run a few minutes before you put the membrane in. Otherwise the membrane will capture the carbon fines. If it doesn't happen already you can also install a back flush valve to rinse the membrane.

    I've had my system going for about a year, here in Huntington Beach, which has really clean water to begin with. I'm about to replace the filters but the issue I have is that the dispenser is a little clogged with some clear slime and a bit of what looks like charcoal that I cleaned with a q tip. Do you have any idea what the slime is from?

    Question! I watched and changed my 7 filter nu aqua system. It was fin before but now tastes and smells like onions. Nu Aqua Sens a manual ugh..and won't talk. Any ideas? I have septic so I can sanitize with bleach. Like I said, it was fine before.

    That might be some carbon left over from the installation. I'd probably dump the water until it stops and let it refill.
