My c.diff was triggered by 2 consecutive rounds of doxycycline for a needed root canal. Thankfully it's never come back but dropping 45 lb in a month and developing central serrous retinopathy on vancomycin for the cdiff wasn't fun.

A sports medicine specialist told me I could take double doses of daily celecoxib for arthritis knee pain, so I did. For 20 years. It's important to show compassion to people who are desparate for pain relief. There is an old saying that's profound, (Try living in someone else's shoes before passing judgement ) Medical lectures can help educate people and empower them with knowledge. However they don't translate to giving people relief from exhausting chronic sever pain. There is also a problem with access to legit pain meds in some countries.

I would say that OTC aspirin, etc also did my Dad in. He lived to 79, but he drank aspirin multiple times daily in his 40s and 50s for severe headaches, that caused bleeding. He never saw a doctor or hospital until he fainted from loss of blood when he was 54. His health status from 40 to 79 was not the best, and it deteoriated in the last seven years.

Eventually my luck ran out with these pills I started hemorrhaging and had five pints of blood/blood transfusion due to five bleeding ulcers from taking NSAIDs for years. After my surgery of cauterizing all the ulcers to stop the bleeding he told me no more NSAIDs Ever again. He said my only friend is Tylenol arthritis and take no more than recommended. One year later I received my diagnosis for psoriatic arthritis. Now I am on a biologic and rarely take Tylenol and have never touched ibuprofen again.

Hi Dr. Berry! Until 5 days ago, I was a proud pill free person. Only if the pain was excruciating and interfered with my ability to function would I take an Advil. (About 3 - 5 pills every 20 years.) 8 years ago I took an interest in food and boycott foods with paragraphs of unpronounceable ingredients. 4 years ago I started a meat based, grain free, low carb, high fat diet and lost 60 lbs. No more arthritic pain, diabetic procedures, sleep apnea, warts, chronic stomach cramps, brain fog and the list of health benefits goes on. I felt as if I found the fountain of youth. 5 Days ago I was in unbearable pain from elbow to elbow, through my triceps, across my chest, collar to diaphragm. I couldn’t find a comfortable position or massage it out. So, I took an Advil to no avail. “Call 911.” On the operating table I was informed that I was having a heart attack. Before an hour from the 911 call, there were two heart stents installed in one of my pulmonary arteries. Now, I have a pharmacy of unpronounceable medicine that I’m to take every day: ASA, Bisoprolol Fumarate, Pantoprazple Sod EC, Ticagrelor, Perindopril Erbumine, and Atrovastatin. And I come across this presentation of how daily ASA is not wise. I just want to cry. I’m a long time subscriber of your channel and hope to be a long time subscriber for years to come. I respect what you say, but where do I go from here? How can I become a proud survivor? I’m only 69.

It is genetic with mutations on several gene strands. My doctor who me I’d seen since in HS put me on so many medications over the years, but at one point I was on 6 drugs, meloxicam being one of them plus I would pop 4 alieve daily. My doctor knew this. I experienced many of the symptoms you speak of. My vitamin D was a whopping 4. Fast forward I am in a new private office. We have real conversations and it has been so freeing to take back control of my health. I can’t change the weakness, spasming which is so intense at times I vomit. Then when a periodic paralysis episode triggers it becomes an entirely different thing. Began going off meds slowly. I did not need them and they were causing other conditions. Began Keto and I’m down 52 lbs from July 11th. Prior to that I had lost 36lbs so I have lost 88 lbs since 2018. Stick with it. I can’t change the past but I can make changes to better my health now. Thank you Dr Berry for sharing the truth.

In 1995 I was put on 1800 mg per day of Ibuprofen for fibromyalgia pain. That lasted about a year. Then I started experiencing what seemed to be worsening fibro symptoms. In addition I was becoming unable to eat my usual amount of food. I almost chose to not go to the doctor about it thinking it was just the fibro. He sent me for some tests including a liver assessment. I got a call from him later that evening asking me to stop taking all my medications and go for another liver assessment. The initial test result was 700 the second was nearly that high. I was sent to a hospital in Philadelphia and their diagnosis was chemical hepatitis. I distinctly remember him saying that I came within a half an inch of losing my liver. I was put on a 6 week wash out. No meds at all. Wow! That was tough. But I was lucky.

HAVE YOU TRIED CBD??? Joking, joking. It's pretty infuriating sometimes being a chronic pain patient and people think they're being helpful by suggesting CBD, tai chi and sprinkling extra tumeric* on your food when it's like...I have uncontrolled inflammatory arthritis and damage to the very upper part of the spinal cord that affects how I perceive pain, as well as multiple disc bulges compressing the spinal canal and impinging on nerve roots. I have anaphylaxis to all NSAIDs now after years of hoofing them to deal with the pain. It's...extremely odd to say the least that in all these videos, nobody in the comments wants to admit that sometimes opioids ARE the answer *as the active anti inflammatory part of curcumin does not cross the blood brain barrier, it needs to be in a liposomal format to actually do anything

Sorry, but my choice is taking my every other day NSAID or being non-functional from pain. I AM healing from going carnivore and look forward to stopping it when the pain is more tolerable. I did stop it for a few months, but had to start again because my fibromyalgia ramped up to non-functional levels again. I'm also going to push back a little on allowing severe inflammation to continue. I've seen the damage that causes, too. Mitigating the inflammation so that the body can use it for healing is a better approach, especially if you can do that through more natural means.

I have fibro too and migraines. I have found that fast walking one mile on my treadmill before I go to bed every night, helps to relax the muscles so I sleep better. I've been doing it now for 2 months and really noticing a difference. Also I drink nothing but coffee, unsweet fruit flavored teas, and water. No juice or sugary sodas.

Healing Cascade. So important and most folks have no idea (not their fault). We learned about this when I was studying massage therapy. NSAIDs also are not good for the pain/spasm cycle. Treat the issue not the symptom. I used to get regular unexplained headaches that I would suffer through without taking anything unless they got to the point where I had to go lay down in a dark room and sleep for a day. However, since I started Keto about 2.5 years ago, and now leaning even more Keto-vore this last year, those headaches are just about a thing of the past. Now if I get a headache it is due to an overuse issue most likely (shoulder/neck). Thanks for the solid info Dr Berry.

A few years back I injured my lower back and was in severe pain. The closest similar pain I've experienced was when I had a nerve in a tooth die. The pain was so bad I could only work for a couple of hours each day before I could hardly function. Of course, I was taking Ibuprofen and aspirin and taking a lot of them. Then I got a cold and took my usual dose of bedtime Nyquil. The end result was a nosebleed that wouldn't quit. It went on for four hours as a steady drip, drip, drip. Eventually, I just stretched out on the floor with a coffee cup under my nose while I read "The Ponder Heart' and dripped into the cup. It was nearly full before the nose bleed quit. After that I quit all of the pain relievers and when I had a headache I simply drank a cup of espresso and waited for it to go away. Oddly, the back pain which had been with me for months went away after 4 nights of sleeping on the floor with an electric heater blowing on my back and it hasn't been back. A friend of mine injured his back in much the same way and in the same area and he had surgery. It mostly fixed his back but he is still taking pain meds to "manage" it. Oh-I also finished the book about the time the nose bleed stopped.

After years, I developed some sort of reactions that I thought is allergies. I stopped using all of these medications. But now that I watched this video and read some of the comments I suspected it is because of kidney damage. Back when I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in the 90s, ibuprofen was known as "Vitamin I". I knew back then that Ibuprofen was a dangerous drug to take because of the damage it does to the esophagus. I only take naproxen sodium or ibuprofen if I have the occasional rare headache. I don't take them for a sprain or other body ache. I possibly took it twice while on the AT. Then, recently, my best friend passed away from kidney failure. In talking with his brother, I found out he took large doses of ibuprofen to help him do his labor intensive job for several years. I wish I had known so I could have told him to stop. Thank you Dr. Berry for getting this message out. It will save lives.
