Returned to India permanently on 29th April from Australia within 3 years.🎉Beginning of New Life. I got good salary package (30 % tax bracket) in Delhi. I was struggling on survival Job in Australia even after PhD. I can see that one can achieve similar or even more financial wealth than staying abroad while working in India with smart investments in mutual funds.😎

From eyes of an NRI living in US from last 12 years with young kids - One point that is not being talked about is that middle class kids in India are getting raised as street smart. The competition among peers in India forces kids to participate in extra curricular in sports, debates or even manage daily household chores. Even if they do not participate in these still they are familiar with poverty, hard work as they observe society around them from maids to rickshaw waalas to street vendors. On contrary NRI kids in US are mostly raised with silver spoon. There are very few "XYZ's ladka ya ladki" to give that peer pressure that forces kids to level up the game. The public schools in US are not aggressive in offering competitive environment. This may not be realized now but as we are heading towards digital economy across the world and remote jobs becoming a norm the Indian lower middle class kids hold better prospects. The balanced peer pressure is not just making Indian lower middle class kids more competitive academically than kids raised in US but they also have more life skills & interpersonal communication skills.

I beg to differ here, kids do not have to be exposed to the ugliness of poverty, hardship, cut throat competition etc. I wouldn't romanticise these rotten attributes of the society. If at all it will save them from psychological trauma, stress and fear. Your children are fortunate to have such an environment, I am sure even you'd wish to have grown up in such an environment as a child. I hope your children make the best use of the privileged life that they are living and make it big in life. Cheers

I moved to Germany 6 months back working as manager & we made plan to return back in another 2.5 years i feel homesick but 3 things that is holding me back here is the pollution free environment, salary that i send back to india after currency exchange becomes good amount & lastly the exposure that i get here is at a very high level because when i was in India i used to work for it consulting where i used to just follow the commands of clients who are seating in western countries and just execute them , here i am part of the business and i get to know what is exactly happening in the business & in my field/department in IT(SAP) its very difficult to get this exposure in India, but i also want to go back to India because i miss being with relatives, eating good food, as i am spiritual so i miss not going to temples frequently, ,good healthcare in India, i miss taking care of my health, here there is too much pressure professionally and personally because starting from clearing dishes to mopping everything we have to do ourselves after work which gets exhausting. So i am in dilema what to do🙂 sometimes i just laydown pros & cons side by side and decide right now till it looks like going back to India has more pros then staying here long term🙂
