Have you ever been to these stadiums? Most of these reviews are pretty harsh. Nothing went wrong. It’s a beautiful and fantastic stadium.

I do not think he has any sports savvy, he gets on all these teams who do not open a roof, when pretty much all teams that have a retractable roof never opens it cause it traps crowd noise and players love it

I live in Houston . So much natural light when it's closed I hate. Houston is only city with 2 retractable roof stadiums. I agree astrodome is an eyesore

best thing about nrg stadium is plenty of parking for tailgating, a great place to host an event a small area with exibition space, and a huge conference center. personaly i would convert the astrodome into a hockey arena with a theater and hotel and restaurants and bars. there is a large chunk of land just south of nrg park that could be developed into a stadium district.

????? I love the channel, but you be pushing the bashing button just a little too much. That’s a beautiful stadium. Roof opening or not.

Never been to Texas, not a Texans fan, but I don't think anyone looks at this as being a bad stadium. Also, no one going to a game there gives a damn about the seating layout. The only thing people want is good sight lines, to be as close as possible relative to what they paid and comfortable seats. Frankly, I think some of the new stadiums look silly from the outside.

The city of Houston and Harris County made the Astrodome an official landmark and legally cant be torn down. As far as the newer Stadium i personally thought it was a really nice Stadium when we did a road trip there to see the Lions.

Rigjt a lotta of us in Houston love the renovations over time and feels it's holding up compared to others. 🤘🏾

This review of my team stadium was so far off and all about an opinion. I respect everyone opinion but your facts on why the stadium roof is not open is completely false. The nfl set a rule for retractable roof stadiums. Unfortunately in Houston we don’t get weather conditions that stays between 60-70F throughout the course of a game. Also having the roof open is not comfortable for the fans that sit in the end zones. Your opinion of the astrodome is your opinion but the astrodome is the reason we have truff fields and dome stadiums it’s a modern marvel now and the 9th wounder of the world

The only time I've been there was for a soccer game. Man City came to Houston and played a match. I'm from Dallas, so everything gets compared to Jerry World. It felt bigger on the inside because there's no stupid, giant TV in the way. I thought it was a nice stadium.

FIFA liked it enough to put World Cup games there. Of course, this is the same FIFA who put games in Qatar, but one hopes they didn't need to get bribed into selecting the Texans' stadium. If they'd chosen FedEx Field, THAT would have required a bribe, for sure.

The old Astrodome is not full of all kinds of diseases and other false accusations. The Astrodome needs to be renovated and maybe converted to whatever use that was planned a few years ago.

The Astrodome has an issue with asbestos which makes a teardown highly problematic due to cost. By making it a historic landmark, they made official something that would never happen anyway. The asbestos also makes any renovation an issue, but there at least they can make it a revenue generator to cover the cost. I think the bigger issue is that the location on the 610 loop south of downtown. Most of the big growth in Houston has been north towards the Woodlands and west into Katy. Overall, i'd say that the creator of this has never been to Houston, or NRG itself. It's a perfectly fine facility.

I went to WrestleMania 25 at this stadium. I thought it was a really good stadium. The sight lines made it more like an arena instead of a stadium.

Bro the Astro dome is a huge positive aspect

There have been rumors for years about either Harris County or a private entity converting the Astrodome into an entertainment venue of some sort in order to prevent it's demolition (I think one of the roadblocks to demolishing the Astrodome was Texas's historic commission, but I can never keep the excuses straight). Anyway, the seats feel a little outdated, so hopefully, they'll be upgraded or modernized within the next year or two, but it's not the worst stadium out there. That's really up to some combination of the Texans, ASM Global (which manages the NRG Park complex) and/or Harris County, which owns the campus through the Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation (whom answers to the Harris County Commissioners Court). Also, the CFP championship game will be in Houston *this* season and the World Cup is coming to NRG in 2026.

The Astrodome is like Chernobyl. It sits there untouched and pitch black all day and I’m willing to bet there’s chemicals in there that is dangerous for us. I don’t think anyone’s been in the middle of that dome in ages. It’s straight up abandoned

This is one of the best stadiums. There is no bad seat in the whole stadium.

Is there some obstructed views in the upper levels from the roof supports??

I never been to Houston but I think the stadium looks cool on tv and it’s home to Rodeo Houston

Who cares if they never open the roof? The roof was never open at the old astrodome so what is the difference?

Another example of why retractable roofs are usually a waste of money.

I think it's due for a major renovation. The interior needs an update and if the retractable roof was transparent, it'll add a touch. When Rogers Centre made their interior up to date, I don't see why Texans can't do the same thing for their stadium.

I've never been to this stadium, driven by. I think it has a really nice atmosphere to it. I like the pilars in the corners, gives this place a different flavour. This place feels very underrated to me. Possibly some touch up and this place could be a real gem. On a side note, the astrodome will never go away, it's like the Roman Colosseum of Texas.

What the hell are you babbling about, man? This stadium has hosted 2 Super Bowls and WILL host World Cup games. Apparently, they got a lot of stuff right for the NFL, the CFB National Championship, NCAA Basketball and FIFA. The stadium has great sightlines. The sound carries well in the stadium and gives a great home field advantage. The outside is fine. Houston NEEDS that roof closed when the season starts. TRUST US!! 70 degrees in Houston in September? LOL!! Not a SINGLE DAY in Houston had a high under 90 degrees in September this year. Not to mention the absurd humidity. October and November, then we can talk about that. They could open it more but it's just not that big of a deal. Every time I have been there, I have never yearned for the roof to be open. I'm fine without a grand window opening, too. The stadium is fine. And the Astrodome isn't going anywhere.

I've been going to Bengals games for 40 years, I'm tired of freezing my ass off, I would love to have a comfortable doom to sit in and watch games.

NRG is not bad like this guys says. They don’t open the roof at 110 degree days because you would even rate the stadium even more harsh 🤣.

I've been to a couple games there. I have to tell you I throughly enjoyed the place . Basically I'm not not a nit picking person ( not to say you are ) We all have to admit NO dome stadium is going to live up to an open air stadium on a sunbathe afternoon in the fall. I appreciate domes but , as a football purist I like my football outside weather and all. Look, domes like Skyboxes are for the faint of heart. Real fans , ( see Greenbay, Pittsburgh, and Denver) grit it out they don't need some cushy, cushy suite. In closing, the weather , the fans and the teams are all a part of the same game .

im from houston so ive been there for events like the rodeo but i love the nrg. its big and not too over done. its just done right. the distance from the nrg and astro dome is fine since during the rodeo you dont even notice it but trust you want that roof closed. i loved sitting at the top during events. the tvs at the top dont bother at all and like i said during october september even when its supposed to be cold its like 105. you want that roof closed

Nothing wrong with the stadium, even the nose bleeds are close to the action. The review of the stadium was a complete waste of time. Your only valid point has nothing to do with the stadium, that being the Astro Dome does need to go, city needs to stop being nostalgic, sorry, needs to go. What went wrong? Simple.. Owners want more and more.. it’s not good enough for a city for nearly nothing provides a venue for these businesses to make mega money, if owner X puts in something neat in their stadium, owner Y has GOTTA HAVE THAT TOO… personally.. they (pro sports franchises.. all sports) need to start building and owning their own buildings… then they can ALWAYS have exactly what they want.. it’s theirs.. want to reno.. do it.. Need luxury boxes.. build them.. but no.. they can’t do that.. the government and the fans need to build them whatever they want exactly when they want… These cities need to stop this corporate welfare..

@@sirchi8731 Actually, I can see signs of it starting to come to an end. 1. leagues have gotten big enough where possiblee relocation is a backwards move… just look at the A’s.. moving from a top 10 media market to the biggest without an mlb team… and it will immediately become the smallest MLB market. 2. Economy sucks… 3 Cities are starting to push back a bit. The NFL was able to move the Raiders and the Chargers and Rams… The rams cost them big… The Raiders almost felt like.. here we go again… and the Chargers.. it’s cost them some fans. their move was the least in all of it though. NFL teams like the threaten with Austin.. but in terms of size, for most it’s a major move backwards. It’s only a matter of time before the Mayors and the Governors to get together and put a stop to this stuff with the NFL and MLB.. NBA and NHL not so much because arenas have so many other uses (concerts, and such) that don’t need a pro-team… but even there.. they may just build them and if you want to play here fine.. if not.. fine too.

Enough sympathy for some type of revolutionary change. Yankee fans, dodger fans and giant fans Are more concerned with their clubs than oakland period 2. Just because the economy sucks doesn't mean you are incompetent on big business 3. Cities should be able to push back, but it will still cost you because there are another city that will pay up. Nobody feels sorry for San Diego. Nobody in the chargers have moved on to Los Angeles. The only thing that San Diego does is that they don't troll like Oakland. St. Louis possibly conquered an expansion team. Because they are being good sports about it, the NFL needed. An owner written enough to move back into the Los Angeles market. So they appreciate Stan crocki and the NFL most likely will give St. Louis first days at any. Type of relocation or expansion. So St. Louis will be fine.

It should be their original Cleveland Browns. It should be the original Oakland Raiders. These cities did not show up when it came to new facilities. So I blame cities for relocation more than I blame sports ownership
