Azteca Stadium stood out a mile in 1970 and 1986. Unlike USA, there are vast grounds with near 100,000 capacity in USA not part of World Cup in 1994 or now. Look at Coliseum, Michigan and other grounds.

The US has some iconic, large capacity natural grass stadiums like Lambeau field, Beaver Stadium, Rose Bowl, Cotton Bowl and LA Collesium which would be perfect for hosting these games but instead you have a bunch of these newer AstroTurf monstrosities where players are bound to get injured and simply put, the beautiful game should never be played on these surfaces

No they aren’t, azteca is overrated and outdated, and there isn’t anything wrong with sofi, but MetLife has better transportation and is literally a few miles outside of nyc, wjth three major nearby airports, it’s the best choice

Las Vegas was interested in the bid at first but when they find out thru FIFA that they had to do all these extras in order to host they backed down. Plus they also said June and July were already pretty busy season for them so they didn’t need the WC To name a requirement they had to make arrangements to have 2 sites where 20k fans could watch the games for free (fan fests) and make sure all national teams had high end facilities for practice etc

It's really bizarre that the voice over calls every stadium by their city (or assumed city, since Foxboro is a couple hours by car away from Boston) and not by the stadium's actual name.

Ok all great stadiums, but, realistically, how many of them will be full during the world cup matches? I mean, we are going to see 48 teams playing, no more 32, this means there will be also many bad teams. If you have only 60k or more capacity it means that we are going to see only like 10 matches with full capacity, maybe. Is this worth it? I prefer watching a 30k stadium full instead of a half empty 60k. Unless you sell tickets for like 10$ to reach maximum capacity

Qatar were beautiful but many of North America are amongst the best as well. Monterrey is one of the most beautiful in the world, same with Atlanta. Stadiums like Dallas and Sofi are amongst the most expensive in the world. Stadiums like the Canada one, Houston are climate control and roof too. Boston and Kansas have no roof but Boston will get a renovation and Kansas as well. They are still beautiful. Only ugly one is San Francisco but many of the top stadiums like The new Minnesota, new Las Vegas Indiana, Arizona didn’t want to participate. Other stadiums from the World Cup like Guadalajara, Seattle and Miami are amongst the most beautiful too. Philadelphia one has one of the most beautiful interiors and very comfortable too. All of them have high capacity so North America World Cup will be a great success.

I think the Chiefs' recent success firmly puts Arrowhead on the World Cup map.

It would be a real Fumble if Team USA doesn't play a game at arrowhead. Imagine how loud those American loving people will be supporting the U.S.

The US Stadiums are huge but architecturally hideous (with the exception of Atlanta and New Jersey stadiums) No symmetry AT ALL.

the premier league has like 3 nice stadiums and the rest are terrible, and 3 is being nice. US has las vegas, Atlanta, LA, Dallas, Miami all state of the art. and i think most of the older stadiums are being rebuilt within the next 10 years.

US Bank(Minneapolis), Soldiers Field(Chicago), Mile High Stadium(Denver) all withdrew bids when FIFA's outlandish conditions to host were announced, all three cities did the math and realized that hosting the games would be a money losing proposition, and since none of them are willing to allow foreign demands on law changes, none of them will be hosting.

What? 😅. I’m not from USA but many of their stadiums are the most expensive in the world. Stadiums like cowboys, Houston Atlanta, Sofi have air conditioning and design are amazing. They left other 5 star stadiums out of World Cup like Indiana, Minnesota, Las Vegas etc. in the other hand the stadium that has problems right now it’s azteca because even Mexican sports people are saying Azteca might not be ready with renovations for 2026.

Los estadios de USA y Canadá no son malos, son bonitos y hasta más bonitos que los de México (y te lo digo siendo mexicano). Aunque es un hecho que la gran mayoría de estadios de USA y Canadá, no son específicamente para fútbol ⚽, si no, para la NFL 🏈, por lo que le quita algo de merito sus sedes.

Even if that was the case North America World Cup will be great success still. Average attendance will be 65k-70. Plus stadiums like Dallas, Sofi, Atlanta are amongst the most expensive in the world. 😅

@@susjkaxxx9465 agree but they got some nice stadiums. Atlanta, Sofi, Dallas, Houston; Guadalajara, Monterrey, the one from Vancouver etc are gorgeous. Many of them are amongst the most luxurious and expensive in the world. Very beautiful too.
