After WW1, Germany required it's citizens to register all firearms, knives, and ammo. Hitler's gestapo used this national registration to begin arresting all armed Jewish men. Many of those men had served in the German army during WW1. Once the fighting aged men were rounded up, it was easy to round up the Jewish women, children and elderly.

All databases are designed to be searchable) of firearm data were combined with a searchable database of ammo purchases it could easily be joined and searched.

Here in New York, they already require the background check... the last time I bought ammo I had to go to the store twice on separate days because the background check took several hours to be approved. All that for one lousy box of 45acp, our rights are really being abused here.

The smelter and bull lit mold is quite inexpensive and if you use lee you can resize it but it’s very close. Options brother, think outside the 📦. Just think of what you pay for one box and if you wanted 10 the loot you would save. It’s all infringement anyway. It’s all government overreach. There was a reason the forefathers put the second amendment 2nd. First is God, 2nd is country the people’s rights, hence that to protect all rights from a tyrannical government!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@@bobgibson874 Yes Bob, those are good suggestions, but I don't shoot much anymore so the reloading wouldn't be feasible for me, I used to do some reloading back in my younger days. I will likely just buy a bulk order online and have it sent to a local gun shop for the transfer, and pay the $20 fee of course, it's a rip off but it's cheaper than a drive to Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, when I went to the local shop last time, they only had one box of the ammo I wanted, hence the two-days it took for the ammo purchase. Thanks for your reply, take care.

I had two teens that participated in SCTP (Scholastic Clay Target Program) The local sporting goods store wouldn't even sell them gun oil or grease untill they were 18. I suggested that they go to the sewing store instead. When I was their age I could buy anything except a firearm all day long. Cleaning supplies, ammo, accessories, no problem.

Between the two I have supplied them with about 350 to 400 CASES of 12gu and watched them in local, regional, state, and national competitions. I have seen literally tens of thousands of young men and women (I call them that because thats the way they acted) safely handling firearms in sporting competition.

@@crueman78 It is a card (happens to be blue in color) that is issued to a resident after successfully passing a state mandated test from the Dept of Env. Mgmt. It used to be only for handgun purchasing but they changed it recently (along with a bunch of other laws such as 10rnd mag limits) to apply to all firearms and ammunition. Imagine having to pass a state mandated civics test and be issued a card to be that needed to be shown at the voting booth or prior to writing to the editor of your local newspaper.

A guy I knew went to buy shotgun shells in Commiefornia for a shotgun he's had since the 80s. They denied him because he hadn't made a firearm purchase in the last five years . Also the govt wants to know what guns you have. If you buy 7.62x39 or 5.56 they know what the ammo fits.

Here in New York state we have to pass a double-duty background check. Form 4473 is no longer sufficient. We have to pass a state police background check and pay $2.50 for every ammo purchase. To get a firearm we have to pass the same background check and pay $9.00 for it. New York has been one of those states that is overrun with Democrats so battling these extremely restrictive laws has been very difficult. Hopefully New Yorkers are getting a sour stomach and will want to do something about this come 2026. If not, we can expect more restrictions and I would be willing to predict, confiscations, because I can't believe that the new background check system isn't a form of firearms registration.

Canada just "updated" the "proposed law" that apparently is now in effect. You need to show a firearms license to buy magazines. And they put a limit of 50 lbs of powder including made cartridges. We used to be following california now you guys are following us.

Reloading for recreational shooting is fine, but if a civil war against Jay Robert Pritzker breaks out, the participants probably won't be hanging around to pick up their brass. Attendance at IGOLD has been pitiful since the year after FIBS got their concealed carry law forced by the Supreme Court. I don't know how much of that is due to apathy and how much is due to pro-gun people seeing the writing on the wall and getting the hell out of Dodge. I live in Wisconsin and I have the same message for Illinois residents that Texans have for Californians fleeing the left coast - Don't move to my state and then vote for the same type of libtard legislators that made Illinois so restrictive!

Since Eddie did a lot of shooting - he had numerous guns including a tiger 38, a tiger 9mm, a beretta, a smith and Wesson, a Mauser bolt action, a Winchester 30-30 and a couple of other rugers we had lots of ammo. Questions, the FBI has most, if not all of this information.

Just another way to collect names. I go to the range weekly, so bulk purchases are part of my hobby,,,buy on sale!

So far no ammo checks for Idaho.

This is why reloading is a skill worth learning and having. It's definitely still affordable for the most part. Yes, primers have tripled in price, but brass, powders, projectiles, and equipment have stayed on a steady level. If you have the money, start that new skill set, asap.

Yep in Kali it was all handgun ammo...once that ended I would buy ammo on sale,but if they pulled out the book I'd tell them nolonger law and leave it on the counter.

So I learned in MD as an FFL that I am not authorized to use NICS for anything but a firearms sale. States that run their own background checks and then inform the FFL seem to be the only states that are passing these laws. If we added all ammo sale to NICS we would crash it

Im one of those odd folks that is fine with even felons owning firearms as long as I got my stand my ground laws and castle doctrine. As long as self defense with weapons is cut and dry.

Ammunition is just another potential form of “currency” that will be used to barter with when the SHTF. Buy it now with the quickly declining fiat currency so when this train comes off the rails you have something of real value you can use to protect yourself and to barter for items you need!

Let us not forget that, to the best of my understanding, you don't have to have a firearm in order to buy ammunition . You can buy ammo because you want to gift it to your spouse or your children or your parents or your friend or maybe a co-worker.
