I have been crocheting for 65 years and still watch as many videos and tutorials as possible. I crochet every day. I almost treat myself like a newbie who is always open to learning new stitches and techniques of crochet and seem to learn something new every day. The step up joins still frustrates me after all this time and this is a real find for me. Thank you.

What she does: The first round she chains 2 at the start before double crocheting, just like you usually would do with 3 chains. When she goes to join in the 2nd round, she does not slip stitch into the top of the 2 chains, she skips those chains, and she slip stitches into the first double crochet. Then, the rounds after that, she starts each round with a single crochet and then a chain after the single crochet, before beginning regular double crochets. When she goes to join in the 3rd round, she skips the single crochet and the chain, and slip stitches into the firsy double crochet.
