    As a beginner, I found it the opposite. Even in slo mo I can’t follow how the initial magic circle is formed. Watching a very skilled person do something beiayifully is not necessarily very enlightening about how to do it.

    So inventive. I've seen the use of the pull back through of the loop after the Slip Stitch also used to make a better color change in the round. Do you have a demo of that as well. Will definitely use this method in next hats and anything beginning with MC and rounds which are increasing. Would it also work when the round is decreasing?

    Thanks a lot! 🥰 🙏 ❤️ I'm so glad you found this method helpful, and I love that you'll be using it for your upcoming hat projects! 😊 I don't currently have it, but I it could be an idea in the future. 👍 Absolutely, this method can also work for decreasing rounds keeping the initial slip stitch tight and then adjust your tension slightly when pulling back through the loop to avoid creating a gap.

  • @massivecrochet

    @massivecrochet

    Ай бұрын

    Well, the pattern is definitely not the culprit for the wavy sections in your crochet circle. As long as you're following the instructions correctly, it will guide you towards a perfectly flat circle. The waves might be caused by slight variations in tension or hook size compatibility with your yarn.

    I have a question, how do I continue making more rows? I’m trying to make a basket and I don’t know how to move forward. It changes every row and I don’t know what to do now.

    If you want to continue growing the circle, continue growing the pattern. For each row, add 1 more dc before doing the increase. 😊

    okay but I don't understand if I put two double crochet in each stitch for the third row. How am I supposed to get 36 stitches?

  • @massivecrochet

    Because you don't have to work 2 dc in each stitch on the third row.

    Sorry for the delay in my reply. Why can't you work round 4? As in the other rows, follow the written instructions step by step and you will succeed very well.

    I’m a little confused - if the (sc +1) is the first stitch and it is essentially omitted by slip stitching into the DC stitch instead, how does the stitch count equal still equal 12?! Idk why I can’t figure this out .. I’ve watched your video 100x.

  • @massivecrochet

    @massivecrochet

    Жыл бұрын

    Because even if you make the slip stitch into the double crochet stitch, you are not actually omitting the sc+ch. The stitch still exists and the loop on your hook completes it.😊

    My magic circle always starts out okay and flat then by the 4th circle it's starting to curl. :( I have done the increase, I didn't put too much tension but it keeps curling. I use a 4-ply yarn and a 4.5mm hook. Could that be it? :(

  • @massivecrochet

    @massivecrochet

    2 ай бұрын

    The most common mistake is working the increases in the wrong place. If you're sure you're increasing correctly and not missing stitches, it's most likely a tension issue. It could also be related to the yarn you're using: make sure you're using the correct hook size for your yarn weight.

    I was so confused at first.. u had 12 stitches then instructs us to add 1 single stitch+stitch and 1 double crochet in the same stitch then said add 1 double at each stitch to make the 2nd row. But that just adds up to 14, so i rewatched and u actually did 2 double stitches to each stitch, i was so confused
