Carrots, which have always played a role in helping other ingredients,
I tried it as a main today.
Carrots are high in vitamin A, which is good for eye health.
The color is so pretty, it's pleasing to the eye,
You can enjoy it with a savory seasoning and a chewy texture.
*** Measurements are scales (g), rice spoons (Tbsp), teaspoons (tsp) (not measuring spoons)
[Serves 1-2]
✤ Dough
- 200g Carrots
- 2 Pinches of salt
- 130g Potato starch (wheat flour possible, corn starch X)
- 20ml Water (when boiled in a microwave)
✤ Seasoning
- 8g (1Tbsp) Soy sauce
- 5g (1tsp) Oyster sauce (can be substituted with 0.5 Tbsp soy sauce)
- 3g (1tsp) Sugar
- 3g (0.5Tbsp) Chili powder (paprika powder possible / can be omitted)
- 4g (1tsp) Minced garlic
- 7g (1Tbsp) Chopped green onion
- 8g (1Tbsp) Unsweet peanut butter
- 16g (2Tbsp) Avocado oil (other vegetable oils available)
- 32g (4Tbsp) Noodle boiled water
✤ Tips
- Boil carrots in a convenient way, such as in a microwave oven or steamer.
- The dough may dry out when making the shape, so make it with a cover.
- You can shape it, freeze it, and boil it when you want to eat it.
- Boiled ones can also be frozen, and when eating, heat them in a microwave oven or boil them in water again.

I just made these and i am eating them as I'm typing this. I used corn starch instead of potato starch. They are very tasty, they have the texture and the chew of gnocchi. The peanut butter is very delicate in the overall taste and it really finishes it all off. I does take a bit of time to make this. I spent 2 hours making it. I had to microwave a second batch of carrots because i felt like i didn't have enough. Because of this i had to blindly add more corn starch too. I was quite unsure about the consistency of it all so ended up maybe adding too much corn starch. Maybe because of that the carrots became a little too thick and chewy but maybe that is what someone out there prefers. So my advice is, don't worry too much about the consistency, unless you want thicker bites. It is okay when the overall carrot & corn/potato starch mixture looks a bit sloppy with cracks because with me they came out fine anyway. Overall it was very tasty but it does take a few tries to make it faster of course. Because the more time you spent the less rewarding the outcome will be. The sauce was great tasting and is definitely something i will remember for other recipes. When i poured the hot oil over the sauce it instantly released a great smelling aroma. I don't known what else to add. I just wanted to let those who are interested in this dish know that someone actually made this and how it turned out. Summary: Chewy tasteful gnocchi-like carrots, with a delicious sauce with a delicate peanut butter taste which could be used for a lot of other recipes as well like plain rice. Update: i tried the sauce on plain rice and it was amazing, such a easy and quick lunch. Next time I'll steam some veggies with it. Some carrots maybe :}. I do advice to reduce the peanut butter to a drizzle because it sits pretty strong in the mix with just plain rice. I also didn't add cayenne pepper or paprika powder or green union, but i did try it with some Tabasco which i added later. which was pretty good. You could say that really finished it off and im not even a fan of spicy food. Update: If you love the delicate taste of peanut butter in this recipe, you should try her "Spicy Peanut butter Udon noodle" recipe. I made it yesterday for the first time and it was delicous and so easy.

Попадаются иногда такие сырые моркови, как дерево. Вот из них можно готовить такое блюдо. Но о вкусах не спорят, конечно.

I grew up with my grandmother adding veggies to the pasta base, and all in Italy has it. Thank you for showing this recipe, I had forgotten about it since my grandmother passed when I was 15, and never got the chance to have her teach me. I'm considering multiple colored carrots to see how that works to add color to the pasta per color group. Thank you for sharing.

전분이 없어서 밀가루로 만들어먹었어요. 밀가루는 대략 70그람 더 넣었더니 반죽이 되더라구요. 소스가 진짜 맛있어요! 여름엔 차갑게 샐러드 소스로 해먹어도 맛날것같아요. 고추가루만 빼고 만들었더니 애들도 잘 먹습니다😊 반죽하는거 애들이랑 같이 했더니 시간이 아주 잘 갑니다…. 집에서 보육할때 꼭 만들어보세요.

난 저런식으로 반죽해서 수제비 해먹음 ㅎㅎ 당근 저렇게 만들면 이쁜 도시락 싸기도 너무 좋겠어요 ㅎㅎ

Рецепт не плохой, но дважды отварить витамины улетучиваются жее. Лучше в духовку испекли .

당근 먹어보고싶단 생각이 든 건 처음이네요
아이랑 같이 만들어 먹었어요 손가락으로 반죽 찍는것도 너무 좋아하구 식감이 쫄깃쫄깃하니 너무 좋아했답니다 아주 고급스런 디저트를 먹는 느낌이였어요~ 집에 땅콩버터가 없어서 마요네즈를 대체했는데 나름 괜찮네요 👍👍👍

Well, I do enjoy carrots dipped in peanut butter so this makes sense, and now I’m going to have to try it 😀
So I made this. I could not make the cute circles but shaped them a bit differently. The texture came out chewy, similar to rice cakes. I used chunky peanut butter and added, along with the spring onions, a little bit of black sesame seeds. My husband said it would be better with chopped peanuts on top as well.

I love carrots. I'm thinking this technique could make an interesting dumpling for a vegetable stew. Make them as shown, but only add salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, etc, make separately and add to individual bowls when served.

@Sheikh Saji it’s not butter it’s clarified butter and you can make it with less sugar it doesn’t taste raw mostly.

이거 해먹었는데 맛있었어요. 당근을 그냥 통채로 사용했는데 전분 120g으로는 부족해서 흐물흐물 하더라구요. 그래서 눈대중으로 더 넣었어요. 200g정도 쓴 듯 해요. 소스는 땅콩버터가 없어서 그냥 만들었는데 기름이랑 소스랑 조금 따로놀아서 집에 있던 크림치즈 1T 넣으니까 농도도 맞고 맛있었어요. 눈대중으로 만들어서 그런지 굉장히 쫄긴쫄깃 했는데 그래도 맛있었어요. 그리고 소스맛이 강해서 당근맛이 안 나더라구요. 가족들도 호불호 없이 잘 먹었습니다. 만드는데 30분정도 걸린 듯 해요

도시락으로 싸갈까 싶어 만들어 봤는데 소스를 살짝 바꿔도 괜찮을 것 같아요. 당근 특유의 단맛이 간장의 짭조름한 맛과 따로 노는 느낌이 들어서... 차라리 샐러드용 드레싱과 함께 사이드처럼 먹었으면 좋았겠다 싶네요. 좋은 레시피 감사합니다 ^.^

using too much carrots i ended up with very big batch 🧎🏻♀️ was skeptical at first since i usually fail at this kind of recipe, but as i'm eating it now with spaghetti sauce, i was blown away. anyway, i added garlic paste into the dough, and it tastes wonderful! thank you for the recipe!

После промывки ,скинуть в масло сливоч.и поджарить,вкусно будет,и никакого соуса не надо.

There has to be another way of cooking the carrots at the beginning than cooking the fresh carrots in the microwave. I got rid of my microwave because I believe it destroys the nutrients in the foods especially cooking the food instead of just warming something up.

@@kellyt5341 microwave is the least problem in this recipe. The potato starch, omg. There is so much of it that this is not a carrot dish anymore. It's a starch dish. Adding a carrot to dish doesn't make it healthy. Btw microwaves don't have a magical power to destroy nutrients. Of course they destroy nutrients but no more than other heat treatment methods. Boiling actually destroys even more. Because when you boil food the water seeps into it. Then it draws out the nutrients that are soluble in it. So they are destroyed even faster. Additionally there is always the oxygen dissolved in the water which is really strong oxidizer (thus it's name). Oxygen quickly destroys any nutrients that are exposed to it. Water makes it even easier for it.

@Kelly T Any form of cooking destroys nutrients, but quickly steaming foods (without boiling in water) in the microwave preserves more nutrients than ANY other cooking method, since it is cooked for less time and the heating method is from within rather than an external source. Unless your microwave was very, very old...you threw away your microwave for no good reason.

@Lasica Finch That is called "poor parenting"! Anyway, I made this with the addition of corn and green beans, too. So the final dish had three colors/three vegetables. It was a hit with my neighbor's children.

Можно добавить тапиоковый крахмал. Он безвредный вродее.

Пища проста,проживёшь лет до ста. Морковь натрите на крупной тёрке обжарьте до готовности на растительном масле.Каротин моркови растворяется только в масле и усваивается организмом.Специи в морковь добавляйте по вкусу..Такая тушёная морковь хороша для фаршировки сладкого перца,даже консервируют на зиму.
A TRICKY way to get kids eat veggies. One can add/mix some greens with the SAME consistency as the carrot. 🥰 Love this.
