I really like Lisa Jewell's thrillers. She always makes me care about the characters, which doesn't always happen to me with thrillers!

Totally! This is the only one of hers I have read so far but would absolutely pick up another. Any thoughts on which I should try next?!

I’m gravitating toward lighter fare this month too. I’m a part-time dog walker/pet sitter. That job is definitely easier than wrangling my 1 toddler.

Parenting is no joke! It really is a huuuge job. I have been back at work for 2 days and I can safely say I do not regret heading back early lol. It is so nice to get a chance to miss them!

What a lovely video to stumble on to introduce me to your channel. Wow the mic's special hat definitely helped, I'm completely blind so only get the audio side of people's content and yours was crystal clear. I genuinely wouldn't have guessed you were outside without you telling us. I love how you're not sure whether you've been broken or fixed that is so funny :'). I can't lie I am usually not a Christmassy person and I'm still not super into it this year but I only found the booktube community and started my channel early this year so this is my first festive season as part of the community and I think that's getting me slightly more into the holiday spirit just because it's hard to resist when everyone else is so excited. I can't blame you for wanting some easy going reads every now and again. I mainly read crime/thrillers with the occasional contemporary romance but last month was my birthday and I wanted to take it easy. I ended up spending the whole month reading romance and almost went insane by the end of it. By the time December 1st hit I was so ready to dive back into something a bit darker. I read Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewel earlier this year and wasn't overly impressed so I've been a bit hesitant to jump into another one of hers. I've seen The Night She Disappeared everywhere but for some reason it's just not appealeing to me. Crooked House on the other hand you have sold me on. I've been looking for a jumping on point for Christie but felt intimidated by her series so a standalone that you speak this highly of is definitely a great recommendation. Also can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Christina Lauren one as that sounds like fun but I've always wondered how a groundhog day scenario would work in a book. I hope you enjoy being back at work. I can't even imagine how challenging/rewarding being a parent must be. I hope Drummer Guy updates you on his band forming progress as I'm totally invested to see whether he finds a singer in time for Christmas, he's in his own holiday novel!. Anyway I'm sorry for the rambley comment I just like to introduce myself to people when I find their channels and you gave me a lot of material to talk about. Can't wait to become more familiar with your content.

Awe thank you this was so nice to read! You totally made my day! I am glad the audio is ok, I am usually super hyper critical of it lol so I never know if its just me or not. My dad always says its good, but you know, he's my dad 😂 I went over and subbed to your channel and am excited to get a chance to check it out. I have a billion children (ok 3 but same same) as you know lol so I do try my best to keep up with the community, but its tough, so thank you for leaving a comment and chatting with me!
