Thank you for the outline of the app. I just purchased it. I love its UI so much more than Nebo & GoodNotes that I was using. It still needs a few additions before it’s truly great but I’m loving it so far. To note: The organisation isn’t ‘folders’. It’s Notebooks & Groups. And Categories optionally as well as tags. Every ‘note’ you make (including ‘quick notes’ becomes a Notebook essentially and you can add infinite Groups within them. The Categories on the side menu are helpful. I’ve created Study, Art, SelfCare, Journal, so far. And I have, for example, in my SelfCare Category; a notebook for workouts and a different one for supplements. I’ve found the organisation super intuitive and plenty of hierarchies without it becoming clunky.

As ALWAYS, you did a great job teaching us about all of the new features in 3. I am really not happy with noteshelf 3… i used it yesterday in a biz meeting and today I unable to open the two notebooks I created. ugh.. I got the paid sub immediately and it just is not working. I also can not find where the “fountain pen” is located. I have used Noteshelf for so many years for all of my note taking tasks and really like it. Guess I will stick with 2 until I can figure out 3. ughh.

Hi, I wanted to ask is there an iPad note taking app that lets you insert writing space (through a page or empty space) in between (or in the middle of) an imported pdf page instead of the usual before or after?

Most note-taking apps can add blank pages between PDF pages, except for Apple Notes and OneNote.

Nice they didn't make it subscription based app . One feature request if noteshelf will see the comment, please add user dictioanry similar to Nebo app , if we write Telmisartan , glimepiride, levocetirizine,etc. in noteshelf then hadnwriting to text conversion is terrible and it will convert to something else. While on nebo there is no spelling mistake. Hope this feature is added. And one more thing , POP up notes like most pdf apps like xodo , acrobat ,etc. And definitely one missing feature is cross syncing between androd and ipados, hope in future there is someway to access notes on windows laptops too in future. Thank you paperless for makign such review.

Noteful has no handwriting recognition. We can’t check Noteshelf because we having a cloud syncing issue in the app, sorry.

I want to know if there's the chance to sync between Mac and iPhone. I have on my ipad. But it doesn't sync to my other devices

Rosie, another very good review, I've just downloaded Noteshelf 3 to try. Is it possible to turn off Noteshelf AI? This is supposed to be a note taking app, why do we need Generative AI? I think some developers are just getting carried away with this "fake" technology! Thanks for your good work!

Hellooo! The best shot you have is to remove the feature from the toolbar. But there is no way to turn it off. ☹️

love your content! do you know if the app uses a lot of memory like good notes? I stopped use this one because of the memory and it took to much time to load pages and notebooks, now notabillity is starting to do this, i have an ipad pro 128GB 2021

Chances are it’s your iPad because of the 128 GB, especially with Notability. With Noteshelf 3 we did notice the slow loading and it might be poor storage management. Some apps tend to need more memory as you use your iPad over the years. And they slow down the lesser memory your iPad has. Hopefully that helps. As far as memory management is concerned, Notability is the best. Followed by Noteful.

execlent review (hope the developpers listen to it) - but I am still struggling to make the connection to evernote - it seems to be an pdf with the Notebooks name as title - strange, not what I call "integrates with evernote" did I miss somthing

We'd need to see what you're experiencing to know for sure. But, so far, the only limitation for our team has been an Evernote account to sync many notebooks. Perhaps that's when the issue you're describing starts appearing.

Usually they are independent apps. That's how Noteshelf has always done it, but it's been so long and without Noteshelf 2, we can't check if there is an upgrade option.

When I click on the text in the file it is not selected why?

That sounds like a bug. Try rebooting your iPad. Or reinstall Noteshelf (don't forget to backup).

The workaround is to copy paste pages or move pages but flexcil's merge feature makes it easier, just select the files and then press the merge icon

It seems that app developers like to change every part of an app. they should keep the best parts and just modify parts that are problems. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. AI gives incorrect answers because it scans the net and the net is full of incorrect information. And it leans Left. So which note taking app do you actually use for your daily life? It would be very annoying to use several. What is your "go to" app?

We use Noteful to study and write notes on all the other note-taking apps. It’ll definitely be annoying to use all of them. 🤣

ah yes with chatgpt its not the developers harvesting your data, its openai instead. great alternative!

Noteful is better I guess
