However...I love my note 10 plus and have to resort to a cheaper phone due to a loss of a job (covid) as to the reasoning I am here. I already bought a lg stylo 4 and with activation and minutes for a month I'm out less than my month for the note 10 plus and my s8+ through spectrum (my s8 broke and was still paying on it)

The Qualcomm SDM450 paired with Android 9 🥧 and LG Software (whether you like their version of Android skin or not), is relatively quick, turn down animation scales, etc.. and the phone becomes downright fast. IMO, this phone succeeds as being a great value for the pre-paid market segment.

I have a Note 9 and came here to see if the Stylo would be a comparable model, because my financial situation has changed. I'm still sticking to the Notes. If I want a cheap phone with a generic stylus, I'll just get a Xiaomi (way better specs) with a dollar store stylus. I don't think the stylus from the Stylo is more useful than those bulky 99c sticks with a piece of rubber.

Why are we getting rid of the headphone jack?!? I see it as a disadvantage when u need internet just to listen thru Bluetooth headphones! Plus it's more expensive if you loose them and just buying them for the first time

Bluetooth doesn't require internet but it does require to charge which is wireless future. You don't have to buy earbuds or use, just buy headphone the one that goes over your head.

It actually is not unfair. Just a price difference. The stylo 5 is a great phone. Both phones do the same thing within many different aspects. Yea the note 10 has a little better specs if you say so. But who would really tell the difference?. Your paying for a name brand popular phone. (Samsung)... Theres where the extra 500 dollars for the phone comes from.....

Awesome review! I'm looking for a replacement phone for my mom and am curious as to what other phones I should be looking at, at this price point. I've read reviews for some of the cheaper Samsung phones and the main complaint is that they run really hot and have other issues. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? My mom has been using my old note 4, for the last couple years and barely uses any of its features. In fact she barely keeps Mobile data on even though she's on my plan that has unlimited data! 🤣🤣🤣❤

Its 16gb, plus can transfer apps to micro sd cards. 32gb come but when you first install it update, your at 16gb

The Stylo 5 has no apps to sd card support as of now. Hopefully they fix it with an update.

note 10 has wacom tech stylus, lg stylo doesnt. wacom gives you more precision, but lg stylo is still amazing. i prefer the stylo over the note for 2 reasons. one, double tap screen to wake/sleep . once you get accustomed to it you cant go back to using power button like on note. feels primitive. two, note screen has always been plagued by screen burning due to its amoled display

I believe I see Note 10 with double tap to wake option but sadly still no double tap to sleep. I too very accustomed to LG G2 style of double tap wake/sleep and really miss them ever since. I also like palm screen lock in Nubia phones in the past too. They have both double tap to wake and palm screen lock which is work accurate to me than double tap to sleep because I can just palm touch the screen to sleep display.

Lg does not need to step it up. The lg stylo 5 is a great phone. Feels like a flagship to me. Its built very strong an looks beautiful. An the phone inside is what every phone should be.. Lg did a great job in my eyes. I had the stylo for 3 for 3 years.. Just got the 5 2 months ago. An love it. Ill have this phone for years to come also...

I've been a STYLO user since the LG STYLO 2 came out. I have the the 4 and I'm using the 5 right now and for me it's not only the better price range phone but it can basically do everything the overrated Samsung Note shit phone does. At the end of the day the function and purpose of a phone is to call text and use the internet the few little specs on these $1,000 dollar phones is just for appeal. The STYLO 5 is way way way better because it's the better price ranges phone and oh wait it has a headphone jack.

Nice review. The LG would be a better deal for the occasional user of a stylus and definitely budget friendly. However, all the higher end features such as the camera, as we love to take pictures, the Note 10 would be the better choice over the longer run. Additionally, As the race to role out 5G is under way, the sparse availability of it would not justify the additional $200 on a Note 10 5g.

I have a note 9 128GB mostly because I have about 300 apps on it, but I bought my mom a stylo and she loves, loves, loves it. Especially likes using the happy color app w the stylus.

One thing you forgot the styleo screen size trumps all the rest

I actually have BOTH of these phones. Well actually, I have the Note8 and the Stylo 5. So I don't have both, but I have a comparable situation. I LOVE my Note8. It is my daily driver. I also love having a stylus, so I thought I'd try a Stylo for my backup. It's a great phone! I'm definitely a power user, so the Note line is a much better choice for me, overall. But the Stylo is proving to be a more than adequate backup for daily life use -- home, notes, etc. However, just as your video points out, there are things I use regularly on the Note that just do not have comparable applications on the Stylo. If you just need (or want) the stylus, then the Stylo will be fine. But if you use your phone for the job, editing, camera, you really should cough up the funds for a Note. And as one might imagine, it doesn't have to be a Note10, if you want to save a few bucks. I get by fine with the 8 for now.

I hope when the Stylo 6 comes out they start to get with the program. And bump up the processer, add at least 2 cameras, and either go for a notch kinda like the G7 which look good, or try for a more bezeless look. The 5 looks too much like the 4 which was starting to look dated when it came out in 2018.

Yeah the Stylo 4 plus was was basically the Stylo 5 except the 4 has better cameras. No reason to upgrade unless you really wanted one. Hopefully they make the 6 better.

A fair comparison now will be between the LG Stylo 6 and Moto G(8) Stylus. That would be interesting.

I think for the fact that no other phones give a stylus this is the only match up that can be made. I'm still using the Lg stylo G first Edition. Ive been wanting to upgrade but haven't found one worth the money really. I like a lot of others but straight out cash is hard for me right now. My take is the Lg Stylo should have evolved into a better phone then this. I guess ill keep waiting.

Basically you get fast wired AND wireless charging, 2 extra cameras, remote control stylus, QHD screen (note 10+ only), smaller bezels and waterproofing if you decide to get note 10. If these things don't matter, whatever the LG Stylo 5 can do, so can the Samsung Note 10.

I've owned almost all notes so far and man best phones ever

I got a note 10 plus for 280$ used. It had a cracked screen and only one working camera. But works great . I might use it as a trade in for a note 20.

Just got the Stylo 6 and I only paid $150 for it. Im really happy that I dont need to spend more than $1000 for a phone

Got the Stylo 5 from Metro for free. No complaints. I debloated the phone and everything is smooth.

Note 10 is so awesome. But I refuse to pay 1,100 and 20 per month. I had a Samsung note 8 and i gave it up for a stylo 5 thru sprint and I have NO regrets. The stylo 5 rocks. It would be a badass phone if it would have had a better processor and at least 68 gigs of memory for 450.00. But I love my stylo 5 and in my opinion is just as good as my note 8 was.

Came back from the Moto G Stylus.

The stylo 5 is the stylo 4 with oreo software.

Dang and I thought my phone (Stylo 5) was actually pretty good but the way he compared it to the Samsung Note 10.... Atleast the Stylo 5 is better than my old phone (LG K20 Plus).

I have a lg stylo 5 no problem at all $149 at cricket wireless

You can get the stylo 5 buy one get one for 10$ at boost mobile.

I owned the Note 4. It contained a defective chip which Samsung is fully aware of. Samsung failed to support users whose phones died. I won’t be buying any more Samsung products if I can avoid it. I’ve now got a Stylo 5, and I’m very happy with it.

I'll take the LG Stylo 5 all day. Great video.

I normally get high end phones but i just bought a LG Stylo 4 plus and im impressed. It has ip 6 8 water and dust resistance, a nice big 6.2 inche FHD+/1080p+ display, wide angle front camera, a pretty good 16mp rear camera, 3GB of ram, 32GB of storage, micro sd card support up to 2TB, great stylus features, 3.5mm headphone jack with DTS:X 3D surround for better sound, finger print scanner to unlock your phone, nfc & fast charging.👏 LG did a great job with there stylo line up 👏👍...

Of course the note 10 wins you just need money to afford it

In conclusion if you don't have the money, the stylo 5 is a good substitute. If you don't care about phones and only use it for what its used for.... Calling... Then then the stylo is a good option. If you have the money and like things like cameras, speed, etc then get the note 10. I would like the have note 10 over anything right now but if I don't got the money I wouldn't go saving for a note 10. (id actually get an s8, google pixel 2, or lg V40 on ebay) if im low on money. Use that money on something useful and get a lower end device that gets the job done. If you get to a oint where money is no longer that much of an issue and are willing to save up. Get a note 10 and it will be worth. Be patient.

Way, way to much money for the note 10. I have the LG Stylo 5 and it's great. Your paying for unnessary things for the note 10. LG will come out with something better and cheaper. Don't get me wrong I like Samsung better than Sony and I was a Sony fan untill Samsung took the lead. Samsung just overpriced this phone. Pretty soon with the technology that's out there and something New everyday. The smartphone world is just getting better by the day. 👍

As a person who normally buys flagships and still has some galaxy notes i gotta say LG's Stylo line is good and to be honest im not even considering the note 10 right now. The note 10 is $950 and you get a 1080p display, no micro sd card support & no headphone jack 😒👎. I got a LG V30 for daily use and just got a LG Stylo 4 plus witch has a headphone jack with DTS:X 3D surround, micro sd card support up to 2TB, ip68 water and dust resistance, nfc a good 1080p display , fast charging , wide angle front camera, good 16mp rear camera and the list goes on. Im happy with my perchance👍

It's a much better deal for the Samsung Galaxy note 10 plus

Camera could be better but the stylo is good

i love my lg stylo 5 plus

So many phones under $200 better than this one. Redmi note 7 and 8, Honor 10 lite, umidigi power 3. 48mp cameras are common in phones at the $160 range now. LG better step up its game. I just picked up a blu vivo xi + for 100 bucks. Excellent phone. Cameras are excellent, fast processor, just as fast as galaxy note 9+. LG u best step up yr game bf u are left in the dust my niggah.

U missed the biggest difference of all between the pens, Pressure Sensitivity! Even the Note 1 kills the LG Stylos for any actual artwork. However, I am sooo sick of Samsung's terrible, shitty phone reception that I'm going with the Stylos5. My daughter's LG V20 gets twice the service of my Note, so does Apple, old BlackBerrys and even a $30 pawn shop Alcatel. The other day I was standing on my sundeck in my long underwear trying to send a text and I whispered to the wind, Goodbye Samsung!

On stylo 4 and 5 the speaker is shit. Even for a cheap phone there are other phones that have better speakers.
