@@tortoise2.04 Backstory: Former, abusive owners had a police scanner running in the room where they were keeping this bird (Max). The person talking with Max is the rescuer. The new owner tries to re-introduce objects, (like pet carriers) and the noise of a television, to try to rehabilitate this traumatized bird. Scanner voice might be a symptom of stress, or maybe just what this bird does. He is imitating cops and dispatchers.

For the people criticizing you for saying "22 months old" verses one year old, they need to realize that at that young of an age, developmentally 22 is vastly different than a one year old. For example a 18 month old isn't going to have the same language and cognitive development as a 2 year old. I hope that makes sense.

That bird believes itself to be having a full on conversation with its owner. He MEANS what he's saying. The cadence of his voice is so funny too because it sounds just like human emotion. He does NOT want to go I to a carrier!!! Birds are so smart,so funny. I wish I had the time for 1.

I'm sure Max is communicating. I love it when he's using an undertone to communicate and also when he's clicking his toes to the carrier, sort of being impatient of something.

Hello 👋. How are you doing today?

I have watched this video at least 10 times now and it just gets funnier every single time. My parents have 6 exotic birds( cockatoo included) that I have regularly interacted with for many years so I am familiar with their behaviors and their capabilities , both good and bad. Maybe that knowledge is why this video makes me laugh so hard that I cry. Mister Max has the most charismatic little personality that I have ever seen. I now watch a few videos each day as I just found this channel last week. Thank you Dan for this channel it's very entertaining and it is a wonderful escape from the daily grind! I know you have your hands full with Max but let me say I feel you guys are an "accidentall" match made in heaven . You are a great dad and a wonderful man for stepping up and taking Max. As an animal rescuer ,I realize your sacrifice and I commend you !! Please keep the laughs coming.

I keep hearing him say "I have to go to the vet." and "I don't" and "I'm a good boy." Like at 2:06 he says "I DON"T. I'm such a good boy, I'm a good boy." Not gonna lie, he makes some good arguments.

Maybe if Max’s ominous garbles were played backwards we might get the real scoop! 🤣 LOVE me some Dan and Max 😘

He was really telling that carrier off LOL. I love it when he whispers! Even tho I didn’t hear it in this particular video. Max is enjoyable to watch
