Max should audition to be a staticky radio channel in a horror game.

That machine voice is so freaky-hilarious! He's speaking in tongues! And then all of a sudden up two octaves he goes into a totally different voice. then down to the machine voice again, then back up. then banging and yelling - he has such a variety of sounds! Sign of a super happy bird!

Max "I immediately summoned the celery at seven degrees and I've slammed the door to the carrier and got back in my cage but as Daddy still hasn't got the message, I will turn myself into a Demented Bird and have an Epic Meltdown, because I'm NOT going!!!" I’ve been watching Max videos for a long time. They’re great. They also serve a great purpose. Anyone that thinks they want to just go buy one of these beautiful, and intelligent birds, can see this takes a huge commitment. A special life changing commitment. They are sensitive emotional creatures that will try ones patience. I live in a rural area where cats show up at our door all the time. They have been brought out and dumped here buy owners that don’t want them any more. They are starving, and sick in most cases because they lived in a house and were suddenly thrown into a semi arid desert environment to survive. It breaks my heart. A bird like this brought into a home is a LIFETIME commitment, these birds can live 40-60 years in captivity. So please observe how much love and time this man spends with his bird. If you want on-ramp think CAREFULLY because it’s a huge commitment.

Very smart bird, even though his English is a little broken, he clearly knows when a vet visit is coming. When birds sway back and fourth its usually out of discomfort as a warning to the discomfort

Once again, Max attempts to summon Cthulhu through the use of ancient and forbidden words in tongues that man cannot truly comprehend. All to avoid going to the vet.

Nobody but nobody expresses his feelings like our brilliant Max does. He ALWAYS presents the greatest, impassioned arguments. He knows how it will end up, but he NEVER willingly gives up... such a determined, little love muffin... I am sure by now our boy has "forgiven" Dad especially since it's *National Make a Friend Day. 💛😉🤠🧡

This is the best/worst vet tantrum I've seen in awhile. LOL. I think I heard "I'm sick of it" and "I said not today." Sorry, Max; that $50 bribe the other day didn't work.

I LOVE MAX! I had no idea what a cockatoo is capable of; such a vast range of emotions; the way Max plays with his toys..... It’s so obvious how much he loves his daddy!

There's a scene in Joseph Conrad's novella, Heart of Darkness, where "evil incantations in unspeakable tongues" are heard in the jungle. Makes me think of Max.

So lucky he uses that quiet deep voice to complain about the Vet or anything he doesn’t like. Hope he never finds out the high pitch screaming is the thing that drives people crazy. Take that back - guess he does know to complain loudly (lol). I love the emphasis he uses with his body.

When your bird knows more Latin than you...he uses it for both summoning a celery demon and then use it again later to exorcise it. That's how Maxie rolls yo, he's cool like that.

It's amazing how well they are at mimicking not only our speech but our mannerisms. In that angry frustrated voice, he flaps his wings and shoves his head around and puffs up his feathers. I'm assuming those things are things left over from survival behaviors in the wild, to intimidate potential predators. Except, he mixes in that human frustration, which fits up perfectly with how he must be feeling. We kinda do the same, we deliver our words with more physically pronounced actions, using our hands to demonstrate frustration, aggressive movements, and being prepared for hostility. If any pet is told they have to go to the vet, thats probably how they would act if they could properly communicate with us. Just something like "I am NOT GOING. I will NOT let that STRANGE MAN touch my FEET. ABSOLUTELY NOT. IVE HAD IT UP TO HERE WITH THIS." Which is what I hear basically from Max in these videos. It's good to know they understand what tone and such has to do with mood, and amazing how they can adopt that with their own natural instincts

More like... Max recites an ancient incantation to cast a curse then laughs about it.

@@sherriebrand1771 Large parrots have actually been proven to understand the meanings of some words, according to different avian journals. They can even come up with their own sentences, kind of like a toddler does. Ex: Petri want apple. He understands Petri is himself, want means give me, and apple is the food apple. It's really fascinating how much they can learn, not just repeat! Tone definitely helps, tho in situations when you want to calm them down, like most animals. :)

I just don't fathom him developing any type of mental complex of Dan's doing. In other words, I have no doubt Max understands "bad" and "little poopy butt" but "demonic entity" notsomuch. Have you ever seen how excited a dog gets when their human says any random sentence -- only in the sing-songy tone normally attached to "do you wanna go outside?" They'll practically wag their tails off to "do you wanna stay in"... Perhaps it's also very different, in that our two year olds become progressively more mature over time. LOL, trust me... the (darn) little toddlers become twenty-somethings in the blink of an eye !! 😉🙋
