    I just returned this car back to Budget. Amazing car and it rode sooo smooth. I can't justify waiting on slow EV charging. It gave me a range of 300 miles on a full charge. The white looks soooo sleek as well. I live in Seattle but when i move back to Texas i'll be driving more so that doesn't bode well for driving long drives in Texas and along the I-10 corridor. Super smooth ride tho.

    There’s so much empty space under the hood. It was kinda thrown together instead of optimized to give the owner usable space.

    Desperately converting gas to EV. The Cadillac Lyriq is super ridiculous, an XT4 or XT6 conversion with a HUGE front cap and zero frunk. They could have packaged it for a couple carry ons

    @@angryGTS it’s lazy tho. They could have, in the Lyriq case, just packaged it tighter and left room for a couple carry ons. The Bolt EV, also GM, is a ICE conversion, but the hood and front cap are tiny, the Lyriq could land a helicopter it’s so huge.

    On thr subject of v2l, while ré there are some dealers selling them for $500, especially early on when there were supply issues. It more commonly goes for $250 or so, with 3rd party versions going for half that price.

    IMO the Genesis has some nice features which could easily added to Teslas by an OTA update. Like closing the windows and acitvating recirculation when entering a tunnel, manual battery precondition etc.

    5:16 Tbh, the inspiration comes from the BMW iDrive system/controller. I own both a Model Y and an i3, and I like them. I appreciate the touchscreen in the Model Y and the iDrive controller in the i3. However, when driving, the iDrive controller demands far less attention than the Model Y's touchscreen. I'm not sure how to describe it, but in my opinion, the iDrive controller is one of the best infotainment controllers I've ever used in a vehicle. It's easy to use and understand, causing minimal distraction while driving. I'm not inclined to compare the Model Y's touchscreen with the i3's iDrive to determine which is superior. Still, in my opinion, adjusting settings with the iDrive in situations that require focus is easier than using the Model Y's touchscreen. This is particularly true because the voice control in my Model Y is incredibly poor for such a high-tech car.

    This style of controller is certainly better than the touch screens used on cars (aside from Tesla) 10 years ago, but a touch screen is easier to use.

  • @MarsPLAYStudio

    @MarsPLAYStudio

    @@brandenflasch it depends if the system is designed for touch use or controller use. Until BMW system was controller use only the system was optimized for controller use, now it’s a mix out of touch screen and controller which I don’t like. Rather having a perfect working touch like in my Model Y or a perfect working controller system like the i3. Still, the voice control in my i3 is better than in my model y which needs to be fixed asap.

    Mazda has something similar to the iDrive and also puts the screen at a distance (though I think they are changing that for 2025 in some models???). I like the dial interface myself; you get used to it pretty quickly.
