@@Izanagi-Okami no, it wasn't stated before. There's a huge difference between screaming to call titans's attention and screaming to humans to turn them into titans. Also, what was said at the end of season 3 with Grisha's friends was that if you inject an eldian with a shifter fluid they'll immediately turn into titans, here the situation is different, we have humans that don't get transformed in a time till Zeke screams and that's bc of multiple unexplained things till now. Spoilers ahead The explanation to why they don't immediately transformed is bc they got Zeke's spinal fluid specifically, which works differently to others, no stated thing till now. It can also look like don't need to be injected since with that they would turn just after, here they don't but transform with Zeke's scream, which could lead to the conclusion that they didn't have spinal fluid since this is already a different situation to what we have seen before about this and could look like you just need Zeke bc he has that power, it could look like that bc that's what they're showing and bc there's no explanation about it yet. And the other unexplained thing here is that the reason why he can turn people into titans is bc he has royal blood which gives him a deeper connection to the powers of the titans and allows him to do some things the founder can do but just some and not as well, hinted but never remotely confirmed.

@@Izanagi-Okami it wasn't stated. That's like saying it was stated Bertholt is a Titanshifter before it was revealed because he gets ready to bite his hand evrytime he is in big trouble.

While Reiner monologue was sad bc of his mental health, it's also somehow "cute" if we can say. You can notice how he has to say they're demons and bad people, he can't say otherwise in there and he also needed to convince himself and was trying to do that for years but when he's ready to explain why they're demons, he can't think in anything at all, he can just think about innocent, funny and cute memories he shared with those he actually considered his friends and couldn't see as actual devils, the fact that reality hitting and all the love he has for them crashed with his brainwashing making his head end up like this says a lot.

@@unknownname8591 well he did love them as friends, as Bertholdt said "we really did mean it when we said we wanted to go out drinking with you guys when we are older". They did think of them as friends, but the world doesnt allow them to be friends, so they continue on with their duty. However they first try to minimalize the casualties among their peers as much as possible, thats why they tried to talk to eren and just get him to come back to marley on his own so that they wouldnt have to fight anymore and couod leave the others alone.

@@cantinadudes They did not try talking to Eren, it was only Reiner that tried when his head wasn't right, Bertholdt did not intend to tell Eren and is following Reiner's orders, not sure if you've read the manga but still this is info you can imply so far and is later corroborated. He did love them, I'm just saying he didn't love them that much. Heck maybe Bertholdt loved them more than Reiner and look how that ended up :/

Reiner didn't mean what he was saying. It was basically him thinking about how they are people just like everyone else really. And if you notice, he didn't actually say anything bad about them.

He did mean what he said about them but it came down to it being the reality that they aren't bad people. Reiner is a character with confliction, as much as he's been conditioned to think of them as devils-his little speech doesn't paint that picture.

Titanshifters have red armbands. Trained warriors who may be candidates to recieve one of the nine titans have yellow armbands. Also, I think Reiner's mom looked so terrified and closed the window after Reiner's story about how "terrible" the Paradis Island devils were, because she was afraid that someone outside would overhear it and report them, because what he described was obviously just normal behaviour.

The main point of Attack On Titan story was stated in season 3 pt2 "The Attack Titan" episode. "The truth is, there is no truth. Anyone can be a god or the devil"

The Titan "bombs" were Eldians. They didn't inject themselves, they were essentially in straight-jackets so they couldn't escape. Zeke's scream is what turned them into Titans. But there are details you don't know about yet. (And yes, Pieck is the Cart Titan, but since you're 5 episodes ahead you know that already.)

I'm glad about how Michelle understands the eldians from Marley and how sad their reality is, while it makes sense to feel like Ron and I get it bc it is frustrating, Michelle completely got it and she explained very well for him so he got it too which makes me happy, they're a really good duo. In the other hand I'll say, While what Ron says is true, that eldians from Marley will never be free or happy if they defeat the island, I don't think they're naive. As it has been said, shifters become "honorary marleyans" and their families too, even if they're not treated super good they have a way better life so it's not dumb for some of them to think they'll be treated better if they do great things as defeating the island. They also grew up in the middle of a really racist place and being really mistreated, having the dream of finally destroying what (for them) makes them look worst since they're good while in the island everyone is "bad" which is what makes being mistreated for what they believe, and for that finally getting treated better isn't naive but a really human dream, they would live in depression if they wouldn't have any hope for the future and they're the less optimistic they can be in a coherent way, not exactly naive. Also, let's not forget what they have been talking the whole ep, if they don't go for the founder to the island they would be giving up in the titans since that's their only way to win with them, they would left them behind and focus on the weapons and technology and if the titans are useless so are the eldians, that means that if they don't go to the island to get the founder everything will become even worst for the eldians in Marley.

Spoiler I know it's frustrating now that we know everything to hear them talking about how surely eldians didn't conquer the world and did awful things, and that's just marley's propaganda to get the eldians there in their side, but it makes sense at this point in the show.

True. Having experience living under a dictatorship with strong brainwashing propaganda makes it very easy for me to understand that side. They were taught to hate and hating them back doesn't fix anything tbh.

The reason how those Eldians were turned into titans because of Zeke in the first episode of season 4 hasn't been explained yet, so just keep watching and make your predictions!

Still amazes me anyone tries to give the Marleyan aligned Eldians the benefit of the doubt after they come back. They made their choices, and they chose to fight even though they /knew/ the people in the walls might have been reasoned with.

Actually gray armbands are for regular Eldians. The yellow ones are Warrior candidates, and red are for shifters.

There is more to it about how Zeke turns Subjects of Ymir into titans. Things to note about it are that Zeke is the Beast Titan but with Royal Blood and he uses his scream to turn them.

It's something to do with Zeke's royal blood that enables him to make them transform when he screams under specific circumstances. Those circumstances have not yet been revealed. It's why he said he's concerned Colt won't get the full capabilities of the Beast Titan, since Colt doesn't have royal blood.

When reiner was talking about his time on paradis at the dinner table he was describing how Sasha ate a potato and then he started describing all of his "friends" eren, mikasa, connie etc.

Don't worry about theorizing, that's part of the journey and we like it, feel free to express your thoughts, it shows you're invested in the story.

I think its not that simple. Reiner is a character who has only known struggle and Confliction. He means what he says in his little speech and he trys to find the words to express the eldians as devils but his own words contradict that even when his intention is to Slander then. His mom feels indifferent about it but I don't think she thinks he's "broken".

Fun fact mangeka isayama has said that he drew inspiration from World War Two Germany when he designed the marleyan characters

they drink zeke spinal fluid, so the scream triggers the eldians to turn into titans. it is indeed because of the royal blood as colt joke about at the moment they talk in this episode.

It was already explained, but Colt is next in line for inheriting the Beast Titan. It may a bit of seniority status, but it's why he gets to be in the meeting with the Titan Shifters. The warriors/people in line to inherit the Titan powers all have yellow armbands, while the Titan Shifters have red armbands. Pieck being the Cart titan, or "duck Titan" as you call her was also hinted at already with her saying she hasn't been bipedal in a long time. Her needing crutches and laying down on the couch also hints at her being that specific titan.

Remember when Beast Titan was outside the walls and every one was riding around sourching for a hole, but didn't find any. So at Conie's village they found a titan resembling his mom, laid on the roof. People had disappeared, but the horses not. So we conclude they just got turn into titans. That's Zeke's power.

All we can say about Zeke's titan scream so far is that he has to do something to the ones that turn first, so he cannot just run onto Paradise and scream quickly to make everyone there a titan, there is more involved, and the ones he turned last episode were probably something like amylum inmates or something. So probably the people that would have been absolutely no use in the trenches

the eldian kamikaze in the plane were injected with titan spinal fluid ( we see ymir get injected on that wall in season 2, later grisha's friends and his wife in season 3), then zeke used his scream to activate their transformation ( we saw it last episode) . she's right the injection is needed for the transformation to happen, however only eldians can transform , the spinal fluid won't work on a marleyan if injected .

you guys are always great😄. If you're wondering why are they fighting for marley ? It's because marley promise them that they'll become honorary marleyans if they do that. With their messed up situation that promise is pretty valuable. And about how zeke transformed the soldier to titans it's a spoiler you'll see that in the next fews episodes.

Marley never knew that Zeke has a royal blood.

“Trading titans for the enemy fleet” just meant that they almost lost the Armored and Beast titans to take out the naval fleet from last ep. These subs are a little iffy and the official subs are much better. It might be worth looking into watching with those subs. But if that’s not possible it’s cool either way.

Hi! Just wanted to point out something with the subtitles that I've noticed for a while. It seems the version you're watching has slightly different subtitles from what I believe is considered the official sub translation. For instance this episode should be called "Midnight Train" instead of "A night on the train" 🧐. I know it's something picky, but the official translation I feel does a much better job with its dialogue that it's worth finding imo. I'm not completely certain what streaming cites offer the official subs, but maybe others in the comment can point to it? Also lol, almost fully caught up with the show, but still! I'll briefly explain the meaning of the different bracelets of the Eldia there are the normal Eldia who wear brown bracelets then there are gray bracelets that the normal Eldia military wears then there are the yellow bracelets that only warrior candidates like Falco, Gabi and lastly wear, there are the red bracelets that are only worn by warriors (titan shifters) or their families like Zeke's grandparents or Reiners' mother was translated with Google Translate I hope you understand it to some extent) 😅

the reason the parachute titans turned were not yet disclosed as of the moment. it's going to be fully disclosed later. so it is somewhat of a spoiler. Just to tease you a bit, it's directly related to how connie's mom turned to a titan in season 2.

Eldians on the plane were subdued against their will (or so it seemed). It does not show but there were probably ppl stuck inside those barrels and sedated so thay they could become titans when the time was right. The way it worked out, well that is something you will understand later on ...

Something that I want to correct them is that what she said at 5:55 is not true. Not all eldians has the powerto turn into titans. They can only turn if they get the spinal fluid
