The scene where Porco is shocked that they are fighting against him, a titan, gets me every time. Hes so used to fighting a war against people who arent trained/experienced in fighting titans, and he was so shocked that this island, the island of devils, that are supposed to be so behind in technology even dared to fight him. This was honestly one of Marleys biggest mistakes, they basically *TRAINED* their *WORST* enemy on how to beat them.

One of the interesting things here too though is that Porco is actually kinda right. The next scene with him shoes him fucking the scouts up. He even almost kills Eren TWICE. The first time Levi needs to save him, and the second time he tears off Eren's limbs and only fails to kill him when Eren uses Lara as a shield. The scouts aren't invincible, and they're not the strongest. They real scouts (Connie, Sasha, Hange, Jean, Mikasa, and Levi) just don't give a fuck. They'll fight whoever, whenever. And if they lose? Well, just remember Hange in Season 3: "Losing is all the survey corps has ever known!"

His friends were already coming for him, he was stuck underground with Reiner and surrounded by soldiers, and he still wanted to carry out the rumbling in the end. Eren’s timing was a formality at best. He and Zeke had already set off all the dominoes for the attack with no expectation or desire of backing down.

He was the one that proposed the plan with the Tyburs later that same episode. Their whole plan was to get the world to unite against them so they could destroy their combined fleet with a test rumbling, as Yelena described in the first special. So yeah, turns out all of this was exactly what Eren wanted. Willy Tybur was yet another pawn, and all of this was just another justification Eren could use for global genocide. Eren is fucking insane.

In ep 7 Pieck also says "they stole Bertholdt's titan!" when Armin transforms bc they didn't have a way of knowing if they killed Berth, if they captured him or if they got to steal his power.

It's subtle, but there's a litany of reasons for why Magath is secretly a good person who was forced into an incredibly brutal role. He tries many things to get the fighting to stop, wants Marleyans to see what they're doing to their enemies, to eldians, to their soliders, but nobody would listen.

Lol true but all the real scouts were all in that one cadet class outside of Hange and Levi so it makes sense. The only surviving person from the Scouts from before Season 4 was the guy who hated Erwin and tried abandoning his comrades, Floch, and he didn't have real experience like the other scouts from that class did.

Fun fact: It was implied during ep 4 by Magath and Willy that they and the goverment already knew about the infiltration of Eren and the rest, they were talking in code and said something like that "rats infested their home", which was confirmed just till ep 6.

We also saw this in season 2 where Reiner got bit by a Titan and didn’t heal. Right before he turned into his titan he put down his „cast“ and we saw him heal. So this isn’t actually a new thing, they probably just don’t remember anymore. 🙃

I think they got it in the end but quick recap just in case: Eren transformed at the end of ep 5 bc he cut his hand before, Falco said it and Eren showed it as a threat to Reiner. He doesn't need to touch Reiner or anyone else, he can transform whenever he wants as always and touching Reiner doesn't do anything. Btw I don't get what Ron meant by "one of the founder titans" I think he uses that to talk about the 9 but it's not the proper term bc there's no plural, there's only one founder titan and Eren has that power, Reiner is one of the nine (that's just how they're called, or shifters) but if the nine touches each other nothing special happens, just if the founder if they don't have royal blood with another of royal blood, like if Eren touches Historia if she was a titan, if he touches Zeke or when he touched Dina.

Since Ron got confused about the dates a little (with no spoilers I clarify): the old eldian empire fell and lost seven titans and ended up in the island 100 years ago after 1900 years of conquering and destroying the rest of the world with the power of titans, which is seen as demonic bc humans never saw something like that before of them and was only used to make genocides and conquers, which is why Marley is traumatized to this day to the point of even wanting to attack their descendants, killing Eren just in case he decides to attack them and want the power of the founder to have the power which would put them in the safe place of knowing it can't be used against them. This is the information we have till now about this according to what we have heard so if you guys see something you don't remember, easy, we sure I didn't say here nothing that hasn't been said before.

Btw you guys missed Magath's point where he says both the Eldians and the Marleyans are demons its actually more metaphorical than being descendants from the actual Devil cause both of them are causing so much destruction Magath is actually a good character different from the other officials but he is very indirect so I hope you try to understand him better :)

Michelle's reaction to Eren using the Jaw titan to crack open the War Hammer's shell is one of the few reactions I've seen to genuinely understand the dark tone of that scene. For me it's the turning point moment where the series starts to get really dark and Eren completely shuns away his humanity.

I'm glad they catched Eren doesn't do this for revenge but bc they're enemies attacking them, in defence basically. Something I truly hate is when people somehow manages to ignore everything said in ep 5 and everything the story presents just to say Eren is taking revenge and giving them back what they did to them for hate, when in reality he understands them and doesn't blame them for what happens but attacks anyways to protect the island since they're attacking them. Tbh idk how so many people gets something as explicit as that so wrong but I love seeing ppl getting it right since it's one of the bases the story has.

Not quite. It’s the Attack Titan’s moral compass that drives Eren, which eliminates its enemies. So technically is is vengeance. “Tatakae”, move forward, regardless of your human morals, whether innocent lives are lost or not, freedom is the driving force behind his actions. But yes, it is ALSO self-defense. It’s both.

@@josephmilongo7072 it was necessary to kill Willy who Eren believed was the warhammer and to respond to the declaration of war and buy time for the island showing their power and getting them more weak so they couldn't immediately attack. Yeah, rn they weren't attacking them when Eren started killing but they were declaring them the war and Eren acted on that, they were planing to go kill them and they can't against them all so Eren went now by surprise so they wouldn't be as stong as they would with the global alliance but he did that attack just bc they declared war to them. For the plan to protect themselves it is necessary to kill and many times it just happens by accident while he's attacking others, like what happened with Zofia, bc in war there's casualties. Don't get me wrong, Eren is a murderer and killing never will be right, he's no saint, but he's doing what he believes is necessary to kill his enemies and defend the island, he can be wrong or right in his methods, but the reality is that he's doing it bc of that, not bc he hates them or wants revenge bc they got her mom killed and hometown destroyed.

I think both you and them really missed the point of Eren’s action here. He didn’t do it to defend anything, but because, just like Reiner admitted, it’s a part of their natures. They both are idiots who will keep moving forward until they get what they want, not for any meaningful purposes, but just to feel like they have some. In other words, they did it for themselves. Those noble motivations they keep telling themselves are nothing but facades for them to be able to commit monstrous acts, to keep acting like they are heroes. Reiner destroyed the wall because he can’t cope with the fact that every suffering in his life is meaningless, while Eren wanted to destroy the world just to cope with the meaninglessness of his quest to seek for freedom. The only difference is Eren decides to keep being a half-ass piece of sh*t even after being aware of what kind of person he is

Marley relies on it's titans for its military strength. They have conventional forces as well, but the titans are the heavy hitters. What Marley has done by constantly making titans on Paradis is essentially create an elite titan killing force.

There, she was dormant for 60 years until Reiner, Annie, Bert, and Marcel was camping nearby where she was. She was a mindless titan at that time, and went after Reiner to eat him, but Marcel sacrificed himself instead. By eating Marcel, Ymir became a human-titan, inheriting the Jaw titans ability.

@@angelsface200 anime spoiler (season 4 part 2) It was explained that Ymir is the one who creates every single titan by hand, so she was the one who decided each of the 9 titans and their powers (as well as the different physical forms they take with each new bearer of the titan (like Ymir's jaw titan is different from Porco's jaw or Falco's jaw))

It's not just that, they also ignore parts of the show that are common knowledge, 2 examples: "We still don't know how Ymir became a titan" Was explained in season 2 in full detail "He (eren) transformed from touching Reiner" It's the most basic knowledge that transformations happen from wounds and it showed his hand was cut open

The Great Titan War only ended about 100 years ago. It's only been one generation that has lived outside of the Eldian empire's rule. This was mentioned back in season 3 and again in episode 5 of this season.

I predict Eren will pull the ultimate LeLouch by the end, (SPOILERS FOR THAT SHOW) making himself out to be the world's enemy and apocalypses just to die and unite the world. I don't really want to see Eren die or become the enemy and bad guy, but he already knows he's only got a few years left. And in later episodes it's clear that he thinks it's the only way to save his friends and home. Otherwise they would all eventually die because even living in a vow of peace didn't protect them from those who feared them.

Lmao that got a laugh out of me. Never thought about this comparison before. Nice topic tho, It's hard to answer. Judging from his conversation with Magath, his influence and the global-spread hate towards eldians I would say that some nations would have joined him, but definitely not the whole world. When Eren attacked Tybur, made him a martyr alongside with the "good" eldians of Liberio, and killed foreign ambassadors, the other nations were practically forced both morally (to follow Willy, their hero) and juridically (functionaries of their governments have been killed).

man, I will always be in Eren's side no matter what.. because I have an experience that a bit simillar to him.. here's a little bit story from 9 years ago. one day in the morning, my dad suddenly being jailed for almost 2 years because of a false reports.. he's been released not long after that and only get a little compensation from the reporter.. but, because of that, my family have to suffer so freaking bad, and my mom start showing a mental issues too.. I still can't forgive the reporter and his family.. so, I'm on Eren's side, no matter how cruel he would be.. this anime can represent my anger in a subtle way..

I think they missed this bc they started talking about the line before of it, but I would like to highlight how Magath isn't a hypocrite about their plan, they hate on Eldia for what they did to their country during the wars 100 years ago, bc of killing innocents and doing genocides, and if they now would have acted as heroes when they're making this plan where they know a lot of allies and innocents will die then they would be such hypocrites but they aren't, they notice they are on the same level doing something just as bad but they do it bc for them it's necessary, they know that it also makes them devils, that they're not better than those they hate for doing that same thing to them before, something like Eren doing what he does bc it's necessary for him even if he kills innocents in the process but with that he doesn't believe he's better than Reiner, that he's a hero or is doing pure good stuff. I think this says a lot about the characters, about Magath.
