    This is a great case study, I like the simple logical approach, No comm ones can be tough, especially since its not an everyday thing we would see, Saw this video 2 nights ago and had a no comm the next day, so thank you much....

    @@VoltageDropDiagnostics it's a VW Crafter. Similar to a Sprinter. Can only communicate with ecu. It has a airbag light on and an egr issue. At the dlc I have 60 ohms across 6 & 14.With a volt meter 2.5v on pin 6 & 14.With a uscope 2.5v flat line on 6& 14.I am thinking high & low are shorted to each other. Good diagnostic case studies! One small misspeak though - 0 Ohms of resistance is not an open circuit - thats a short from CAN hi to CAN low. But at the end of the day, you still identified that the waveform was abnormal, found the issue, and fixed the car.

    Thanks pat! Keep them coming! Wouldn’t mind what kind of format you’ll have as long as we can learn from it! Also I think that the Ford was harder than the Chevy but we all knew that it didn’t have a can problem before the trans was taken down so it was likely a tech made error!

  • @VoltageDropDiagnostics

    @VoltageDropDiagnostics

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Glenn! Yeah, the ford wasn't bad only because I knew that it was caused by a tech. But the Chevy was somewhat hard to duplicate. It was somewhat intermittent and as soon as any module was unplugged the communication circuit would reset and everything would work until it stopped again.
