Willem Dafoe actually played Nosferatu in a 1990s movie about the fictionalized making of the original silent film, so it's full circle for him

The original has some of the most terrifying imagery and shots. It's a phenomenal film even by today's standards. The sheer level of cinematic expression from a century old film puts a lot of modern cinema to shame. Love it.

Actually in this version, he is Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz. Nosferatu while yes is essentially Dracula, the names are completely switched out to essentially avoid copyright violations since it was never authorized by the owner who held the rights to the book

We already kinda got an adaptation of Nosferatu with Willem Dafoe in the movie shadow of the vampire a fictional story of how the film was made with Dafoe as the actor who played Nosferatu and actually a vampire. But I'm willing to give this movie a chance as it looks terrifying.
