    The beautiful piece of art that it is, has no political meaning at all. He was orphaned at the age of 13/14, it is a letter to his Papa(Daddy) his dad always told him borders are manmade nonsense. The burning and the end is about how he will always miss his parents, but you keep your own sadness alive all by and in yourself. It is kinda cathartic. It brought me to tears so many times. STOP dragging stupid politics into it!

    It is kinda political though, the message from his father was absolutely political in itself and EU has truly opened up possibilities for Europeans to become closer. Maybe stop getting so angry? @@petermaardananders6803

    The song is a letter to his parents who died when Joost was still young. His father told him that since humans invented the borders, he could invent the world, his own world. And so he did! The end with the burning picture and house mean that it's time to stop grieving about his parents and step into a new phase in his life.

    Joost lost his parents at a very young age (12/13) His dad (papa) told him he can travel anywhere because the world has no boarders only boarders made by people. He travels everywhere but still feels the pain of the loss of his parents. When he was young he and his parents watched ESC together and Joost told his parents he wants to perform at that stage one day. The music genre of this song is a true dutch genre called gabber/happy hardcore. One of the biggest gabber producers helped Joost with this song > DJ Paul Elstak (he even has a cameo in the clip in the car almost at the end) More cameos in this clip are : S10 (esc entry in 2022 for the Netherlands) Rene Froger (esc entry with de toppers in 2009) Emma Wortelboer (gave the points from the Netherlands in 2019) Rapper Donnie (helped with this song )

    At first, I didn't grasp the profound meaning, but upon closer inspection, the song reveals a deeper understanding. Clues within the lyrics suggest that the song is a tribute to the artist's parents, particularly his father. The phrase "Euro papa" carries significant weight, signifying a promise the artist made to his father before his passing - a commitment to one day grace the stage of the European Song Festival.

    12 points to The Netherlands. The winner of the Eurovision Songcontest 2024. This is a masterpiece. Euro papa= Euro dad, because papa is dad in Dutch. A sad song with lyrics with a meaning, with a message, in a happy hardcore melody. A letter to his father who died when he was a 12 year old child. His mother past away a year later. He promised his father that he will be someday on the Eurovision Songcontest stage. His father told him that it is possible because there are no borders between the countries, and no limits to follow his dream. Borders and limitations are made by human. In every country he went, he felt the pain and grief of no having his parents. The fire symbolise letting go of the grief and pain, and the start of a new chapter in his live.

    Eurovision is an emotional affair for Joost. As a child, he watched it together with his parents. "Parents, one day I'm going to be on Eurovision stage" and he made it. Unfortunately, his parents died when he was a child. This song is dedicated to his late father. That's why it's called EUROPAPA. The part in the song “I'm in Germany, but I'm so alone. I'm in Italy, but I still feel the pain, etc.", I feel it's directed at his parents... Joost loved his parents and still does. His lyrics are mostly very deep, but the melody is happy, danceable and the clips of his song are presented in a fun way. Joost himself said that his musical style is diverse. When Joost was asked what song they should listen to in order to understand you. He answered Florida 2009 (it's about his parents) and Wachtmuziek (it's about mental health). I recommend listening to them. You have to translate it, because he sings in Dutch.

    Interesting to hear the comparison of genre and thinking of hardbass and gopniks, but this is gabber, a Dutch hardcore techno that is older in origin but has some of the same influences. Russian hardbass took inspiration from the bass sounds of pumping house, and the characteristic ‘bamboo-bass’ sound of the genre was invented by a Dutch duo, Klubbheads in the late 90s.

    Nice reaction video. Have some more information about the song below. (Story behind Joost Klein and the meaning of 'Europapa') This is what Joost said about his song: “Europapa” is a tribute to my father. The song is a letter I wrote to my father, who died when I was a teenager. 'Europapa' is about an orphan who travels through Europe to find himself and tell his story." “My father taught me that the world actually has no borders. He said: 'the borders were invented by people, so you can also imagine the world'. So go for the causes you believe in.” Europapa's video clip shows a house on fire. (What does that stand for) "When people see my act, the first response should be, “What's going on here?” Ultimately, I hope to touch people and make them think. 'Europapa' initially seems like a very cheerful act, but behind it lies a deeper message. Sometimes you have to say goodbye to the things that are most dear to you. And where one door closes, sometimes 30,000 open. And most of all, I learned that sometimes you perpetuate your own pain. So actually that letter is also a kind of closure, I dare say. I want to tell them, 'hey, mom and dad, you will always be there for me, but I can't carry this pain with me forever'.” (Background What did that have to do with, information from Joost Klein) Joost Klein (26) is from the Netherlands. Joost, is a Dutch musician, rapper, singer and former KZreadr. He is primarily a hip-hop artist and his songs and performances often incorporate influences from electronic music, such as drum 'n' bass, hardstyle, Happy hardcore and gabber. Joost also writes poetry At the age of twelve he lost his father to cancer. A year later, in 2011, his mother died of cardiac arrest. After the death of his parents, Joost was cared for by his older brother and sister. {Sorry, for errors in your language, I translated this using Google Translate}

    The song is a tribute to his dad. Joost always wanted to compete in Eurovision and his dad told him that there are no limits (or as shown in this video: no borders). Sadly, both his parents passed away when he was still young and with this song/video he’s saying to father: you were right, I listened to you and now I’ve made it!

    the song is actually a bit sad. As others already stated, he lost his parents at a very young age. There are a lot of double meanings / connections to his parents. Like the song is called "euro-papa" because papa is dad in dutch. He is singing that he goes to other places but he feels alone. He lost everything except time. he is struggeling He is giving people money but nobody is helping him. He went to mental healthcare but they could not help him. He is talking about the song Papaoutai from stromae. Papa outai means "dad is here" and the phrase Où t'es? Papa où t'es? means Where are you? Dad where are you? check out the lyrics of that song too :) He is also mentioning "i wont stop until they say, yes he does that very well" because he is seeking pride from his parents. The ending is pretty clear but i think he is talking to his dad and his younger him and he tells his dad that he listend to him. Also the burning picture and burning house stands for him closing that chapter and he wants to move on and dont want to feel the pain anymore. while he was in therapy they used burning stuff to let go the old

    The sounds are early 2000's and some sounds 2010's But new, you know what i mean? And the beat when the people dancing crazy was called happy hardcore and was very popular in the 90's. The dance was called Hakken and the group was calling themselfs Gabbers. Joost Klein lost his father when he was only 12 and a year later his mother died. Song tribute to his parents, and a message to his father i have done it dad. He prommised his dad that he would be performing at the eurovision.

    This has absolutely nothing to do with Ukraine. It has to do with losing his parents at a very young age and watching Eurovision with his father. His father taught him that there are human made borders and he can do out there and make his own world and how easy it is to travel throughout Europe. The music is a reminder of the Dutch music back in the 90's, the windmills etc. Has nothing to do with politics. The last part of the burning house and picture is a metaphor for Joost being finally ready to let go of his pain and move on with his life but still honoring his parents and especially his father.
