Norman played dobro on some early seminal recordings (including Doc Watson stuff) before the era of Mike Auldridge and Jerry Douglas

WoW, what a legendary dobro player. Norman Blake's dobro playing on many of Johnny Cash's 1960s recordings is simply fantastic.

He creates such beautiful sounds with this instrument and makes it look easy. I do not think it is easy

Yes, it's from Saturday June 2nd, 2012. A rare performance indeed. I was very fortunate to not only attend, but to record a few tunes.

Just great really enjoyed that relaxed version of this great song.

Great song well played. Norman's dobro playing is perfect. I wish the sound quality was better. Thumbs up anyway.

Yeah, the audio isn't great. Recorded with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. At least I was able to sit close. :)

Is this a recent performance? If so, it's good to see that he's still out there playing gigs.

Who is the gentleman playing the guitar? looks a little like Bob Johnston which it cant be.

@@t4texastom587 I like the resonator guitar. I used to play one myself. Norman is a pretty good resonator player, but his flat top is much better. Play what you play best. I can play the same tones as Blake on the flat top, but I can't make it sound like Blake.

What do you expect from an audience member sitting on the floor, 10 years ago, recording with a hand help samsung Galaxy S7. And out of the current 39,133 views, you're the only one to bitch about it. What a sad ass life you lead.
