Manual mode is no joke. I had many hours flying traditional DJI style drones. It did absolutely nothing to prepare me for flying acro/manual. Manual mode makes me really appreciate exactly how much a regular drone does the thinking for you. So much more than I ever could have realized.

I wrote mine off first flight in manual but it freaked out on me when I switched it back into normal mode to land it, literally tanked into the ground 😅

I've only ever flown in manual on traditional fpv drones . Can the motion controller that it comes with do full manual mode?

No, but it does have easy acro mode so you can make it flip etc. but not anything like what we would do in manual (or acro)

No 🥴 that’s not good 😂😂 i’d check your button settings (however i don’t think you can map that to something other than pause), make sure firmware is all up to date and then contact DJI support

Also a nice step i made for myself was to download REAL DRONE SIMULATOR its free and let you connect your DJI Controller with USB-C so you can 'train' a little, its not 100% compared to the real world but gives you some feeling about the controls and you can cost-free crash you drone in this virtual world, couple of hours helped me to go Manual mode.

Yeah, highly recommend using some kind of simulator. I did exactly that years ago on Velocidrone before I bought the parts to build the drone. It definitely allows you to learn the controls and teach you the muscle memory etc

Awesome video! I adjusted my throttle stick like you showed to get used to the fpv controller while in the simulator. Is it better to adjust it back when I only want to fly in normal and sports mode in real life?

Technically yes, however i fly in normal and sport mode with it like that 😂 you ‘shouldn’t’ but i make my own rules

If you loosen that stick and change your settings for learning manual, I would definitely leave the stick loose for as long as you have those settings changed and are able to toggle M on the controller. You'll likely be toggling between N/S/M on the fly anyways. N/S for takeoff and landing and toggling M when you're in the air is a good way to be extra safe. If you do reengage the spring to make it self centering again for any reason, I would definitely disable manual mode from the settings once again. You really don't want to accidentally flick into manual when your left stick springs back to center, that could be dangerous.

Keep the throttle stick in FPV mode.

so disabling Attitude limit will make the drone lose self-stabilisation?

Only when in manual mode, But that’s pretty much what you want in manual mode

Maybe you have an idea, why, when i try switch on to manual mode, i get a message "Manual mode is not available"?

Go in to your settings, make sure you have manual mode set to the switch rather than sport mode. Give that a try
