Puberty physical और sexual maturation की एक natural process है जो children के adulthood में change के रूप में होती है। यह period , hormonal और emotional change द्वारा चिह्नित महत्वपूर्ण growth और development की अवधि है।
Puberty के दौरान, लड़के और लड़कियां दोनों विशिष्ट physical changes का अनुभव करते हैं।
Puberty का समय व्यक्तियों में भिन्न हो सकता है, लेकिन यह आमतौर पर लड़कियों में 8 से 13 वर्ष की आयु और लड़कों में 9 से 14 वर्ष के बीच होता है।

-लड़कियों का तेजी से विकास होता है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप height और weight में increase होती है।
- pubic hair, underarm hair, और facial hair की increase होती है।
-शुरुआत में nipples के नीचे छोटी, tender lumps बन जाती है, जो धीरे-धीरे समय के साथ बढ़ती जाती है।
-Menstruation, आमतौर पर बाद में युवावस्था में होता है, आमतौर पर breast development की शुरुआत के लगभग दो साल बाद।
-यदि लक्षण 8 वर्ष की आयु से पहले दिखाई देते हैं तो इसे early puberty माना जाता है और 13 वर्ष की आयु के बाद देर से late puberty माना जाता है।

-लड़कियों की तरह ही लड़कों का भी तेजी से विकास होता है, जिससे height और weight में increase होती है।

-Puberty के दौरान penis का shape भी बढ़ जाता है।
