It was obvious how dependent Norman was of Norma but Norma's last episode alive really showed how dependent Norma was of Norman. First thing Romero should have done when he and Norma married was to force her in therapy. She just couldn't accept being away from Norman. Maybe she would have survived if she had gotten help.

She loved Dylan so much but in the end when there was Dylan talking sense to her about Norman she chose to hurt Dylan, practically telling him she would never love him as much as Norman. She loved Romero truly but was willing to end her marriage when he tried to get Norman committed. She was too dependent and blinded by Norman to listen to anyone in the end. She had stuck behavioral patterns that she should have gotten therapy to.

Romero was good for Norma his health insurance was also handy to help Norman. Pity Norman didn't run off with the girl I think that would have helped him.

as a work of fiction i think bloch was attacking the vision of america and mum's apple pie. you would have thought that was past tense until hilary clinton had togive recipes for cookies when making a stand for presidency.however .the arc of violence stemming from norman's behaviour usually has a rational base in real life. i think bloch's book was more about the state of the american vision of the world rather than mental illness.however i think freddie highmore and vera farmiga are great actors.

They're all dead now....norman really did kill his mother....and then he died of cancer...if that's what you mean? I looked it up a little and he was just a very mentally ill guy and also had cancer really bad.

The real norman was a very mentally ill guy loaded with health issues too so I don't think he meant any of this. I think he was just sick and didn't know any better. It's sad. Old story though.
