Yely Harmony While he is a good actor a lot of his mannerisms are very similar. His speech patterns, the way he moves and carries himself. There are differences in each role but there is distinct similarity between Norman Bates and Shaun Murphy. I completely agree, you can’t call them opposing roles.

I never got into Bates Motel years before but now i do. I just love it. I even ordered the whole season cause its so good and twisted. Such a shame that Norman didn't get the treatment he needed; due to his mother.

This show makes me go nuts. I love the drama the scheming the love for emotional suffering and the games these two play on each other but sadly the mother also cannot be blame as she was a product of extreme violence and torture during her childhood. What a mess for everyone, glad it was just a show but unfortunately plenty of people may never knew they had some form of hidden trauma deep in their psyche.

So after Charlie got Willy Wonka's factory his family changed his name to Evan Taylor and became a musical genius and is an orphan and Lyla and Louis thought that he was their son and after Evan became older he is starting to have blackouts and killed Lyla and Louis, then he was adopted by the Bates and changed his name again to Norman Bates which he know owns a motel and is a psychopath, then after he got "killed" he didn't actually die but has amnesia and autism and savant syndrome then the police changed his name to Shaun Murphy and said that he and his brother ran away from home when they were kids, then his brother died so he wanted to be a surgeon then he was hired at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.

I love how in the movie Psycho Norma was a cruel and domineering woman but in Bates Motel they made her a more caring and loving mother who would do anything for her son.

She might have loved her son in this version but she was still very manipulative and always kept secrets from him because she didn't wanna accept the fact he's crazy. It also didn't help that she was a giant hypocrite. Norma threw herself at the first guy who gave her attention while judging Norman for having a crush on another girl

@@kittyb275 She didn't mean to do that. Norma in the show was just very overprotective of him because she was afraid he'd hurt someone again and she'd lose him forever. Norma was such a good mother that she was willing to let Norman think she killed his dad so he wouldn't blame himself, something I can only imagine went against every fiber in her being but she did it anyway because that's what any good mother would have done.

Hello glad u saw this comment...for anyone wondering if they should binge watch this I am here to tell u do not...DO...NOT.. this is such a deep twisted and unsatisfying show..I started watching this whole now I just finished all 5 seasons and I feel broken.. was watching this nonstop for 3 days..it was nice for first 3 seasons but s4 and s5 fucked me mentally..I cant recommend anyone to watch this..I wanted to stop at end of s4 but I was so invested and optimistic I watched the rest even though I ddnt like it anymore..pls save yourself.
