This makes me sad because it happens in real life. Some parents emotional manipulate their children and the child becomes an emotional crutch to the parent. It creates codependency and is very toxic. 😢

Seeing her act like that just made it seem creepy as hell. The moment she acted like a lover screaming at the door, Norman should have left for good.

Overall, It was Normas fault. At times she was good, like encouraging him to be a normal kid at the start of Season 2, then scenes like this happen you can’t help but feel she really contributed a lot to his condition.

She's plays a big part, but I can understand. What relationship in her life is "normal". The relationship she had with her parents is fucked up. The one "comforting" relationship in her life with her brother was screwed up too. She over compensated with Norman. She tried to give him the affection she never got but she didn't know what was healthy and what was not.

This is particularly extreme since a medical condition -probably on both- is depicted. Still we all have this kind of relationship with our mothers. From a lesser to higher degree. That is something even cultural.
