She is adorable as grown she has shown a wonderful and playful personality. She is the first place I go to see her at the zoo in Portland.

Nora as a cub likes her bottle, her blankie and her stuffed animal buddy. Older, she likes belly flops into the pool. Our need to enjoy cuteness is not really an excuse for holding animals in captivity, though.

@@Christopher.Colberg both you and the above comment are correct. When raised by humans, they learn that we are a source of food and comfort, not fear. But they’re still wild- bring a hunk of meat around a hand-raised polar bear and you’ll see it in action. But that bear will always know it’s trainers and handlers, and will be more friendly towards them for the rest of its life.

For those wondering what happened to her mother: "Nora was born on November 6, 2015 in the Polar Frontier region at the Columbus Zoo. Animal Care team members had hoped that Aurora, Nora’s mother, would care for Nora but when she began leaving the fragile newborn alone for prolonged periods of time the team decided to step in and hand-rear the cub."
