Looking forward to the hack video! I rarely eat instant ramen without adding something extra these days

You are the effing best. I'm so happy your channel exists. I found you while looking for this video. My 3 year old daughter is a noodle fiend. And it's been somewhat of a hobby(if such a thing exists) to find noodles she and I both like and can eat together but are still simple to make.

Thanks for your support! And yes, I think it's safe to call instant noodles a hobby nowadays; I don't think any food has taken off recently on the same level of enthusiasm the way noodles have. Like, you just don't see the same amount of passion & devotion with something like, say, Hamburger Helper. I hope I can help you find some more noodles your daughter will love. My own daughter is 2 and she currently devours lo mein like nothing else I've ever seen, so I can totally relate. I'll try to keep it in mind to mention whether or not things are kid-friendly in future videos!

This variety can definitely do with some spice to amp up the flavor. Let us know what you used!

It's strange that the dried vegetables don't have to be cooked in the water. So this is just a noodle dish with no broth, glad to hear that noodle hax are coming!

Yup. dry scallions just aren't going to compare to the fresh. I've put in fresh scallions in the chili spice and it ups the flavor profile in a big way. looking forward to your hack vid! you're channel is super under-rated. would love to see more reviews of food since you are a supertaster. Best.

Thanks, I appreciate the support! I would love to branch out into other food reviews, but learning about instant noodles is my current passion. Maybe if I ever hit 1000+ subscribers it would be something to consider if people are interested.

Great video. Question? Since ramen has high salt if i was to boil it in a lots of water and throw the water out , would that reduce the salt in the Ramen?

Great question! I'm not a food scientist, however I have picked up a couple things over time: 1) the majority of the sodium in instant noodles comes from the soup/sauce packets and not from the noodles themselves, and 2) noodles release starch into boiling water, not sodium. I don't believe that what you're suggesting would lower the sodium in any significant way.

How many calories are in the sauce packet?

The nutrition label unfortunately isn't specific about the sauce vs. the noodles. The Momofuku website for this pack says it's 320 calories per serving for the noodles + sauce: shop.momofuku.com/products/soy-and-scallion-noodles-5-servings
