Non-Native Speakers Conversing in Persian (فارسی حرف زدن خارجی ها)

In today's video, I am joined by Chiara, Naiyer, Eszter, and Shuce, from Italy, India, Hungary, and China, respectively, who have all learned to speak Persian. We'll have a discussion about their journey to learning the language, along with a series of questions I have.
شرکت کننده های این ویدیو اهل ایتالیا، هند، مجارستان و چین هستند. ویدیو رو تماشا کنید و ببینید که چطور با همدیگر به فارسی صحبت میکنند

The Persian language has many different accents and dialects, spoken primarily in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, a significant percentage of the population in Uzbekistan, as well as by minorities who are native to other countries across Central Asia, the Middle East, South Asia, and the Caucasus. Although some people consider "Farsi" to be the term for the Iranian variety, the fact is that "Farsi" or "Parsi" is the endonym for the Persian language, and the term is natively used to refer to the language among all Persian speakers, not only Iranians. The terms "Dari" and "Tajik" are more often used by non-Persian speakers than Persian speakers themselves, who, regardless of their country, use the endonym Farsi or Parsi when speaking their language.
When talking about the Tajik variety of Persian, and the Persian language in Central Asia, it's vital to mention the Samanids (سامانیان), an empire that was established by the descendants of Saman Khoda, a wealthy Iranian Zoroastrian noble who converted to Islam. The Samanid Empire is part of the Iranian Intermezzo, which saw the creation of a Persianate culture and identity that brought the Persian language and traditions into the fold of the Islamic world. Ferdowsi and Rudaki were both born and lived during the Samanian era. Ferdowsi died after the collapse of the Samanian under the Ghaznavids, while Rudaki lived his whole life under the Samanids. Samanids revived the Persian language and culture more than the Buyids and the Saffarids, and despite being Sunni Muslims, they considered themselves to be descendants of the Sasanian Empire and took pride in having Zoroastrian ancestors. During the Samanid era in the 9th and 10th centuries, there was a large amount of growth in Persian literature, mostly in poetry, which expanded across Central Asia.
The Persian language is classified as one of the Western Iranian languages, and has strongly influenced many different languages, including numerous Turkic languages, as well as well as Armenian, Georgian, and many languages in the Indian subcontinent.

As a native Farsi speaker from Balkh, Afghanistan , I’m delighted to see individuals from both Eastern and Western Europe, China, and India utilizing Farsi as a means of communication. It’s truly heartening to witness their dedication and proficiency in speaking my language. Their ability to bridge cultural and geographical divides through Farsi is admirable, and I want to express my sincere appreciation for their efforts in learning and mastering the language.

Naiyer (the Indian guy) is hard to distinguish from a native speaker, which is not surprising given how Hindi-Urdu and Persian are related. However what's surprising is the Eszter, Hungarian girl. From some knowledge I have from Hungarian, despite it being not related at all to Persian it has a very similar phonology, especially in how consonants and vowels are arranged.

She speaks Persian more naturally and has a deep knowledge of the persian culture. An Italian friend is surprised because she heard many Persian words in other countries. The reason for this is that the countries she mentioned were once part of the Persian Empire. Best of luck to you.❤

I really like Chiara's comment about music. Music is important to me too. It's the reason I started learning Finnish eight years ago, and what a journey it has been. Learning a language really opens the heart and mind to different ways of thinking, and can bring you experiences and relationships you would never have imagined. German feels familiar to me because of my Mennonite heritage, but Finnish is probably the language I love the most.

They are speaking Persian very good. I think for everyone that is trying to learn Persian, I recommend that they should be relaxed and they don’t need to worry too much about delicate features of Persian language like taarof or dialects and etc. The Iranian can understand that it is hard to learn all these and never judge you for your mistakes. Also, I can understand that there is not a lot of valid sources to learn that what is right or wrong in Persian. In my opinion, because Persian speakers are very diverse in culture and their background, you may hear that something is wrong but someone else will say that is incorrect. For example, the prepositions in Iranian Persian and other variation like Tajik and Dari are somewhat different. Cudos to all participants and Bahador for conducting this episode!

Loved this video so much! Can't decide if I was more inspired or envious. I think I have a lifelong crush on the Persian language and it was so sweet to listen to the role it plays in its learners' lives. Nice questions, too, Bahador. Congratulations to all of you; special congratulations to the non native speakers!

Right now hit song being played in my country is old Iranian song jamal jamaloo. We knowingly or unknowingly use so many Persian words in our conversation and i a trained lawyer always come across Persian words such as taksirvar, begunah, insafi, sahed, mujarim, khabar, tehtikat etc. I can keep up words within Persian sentence if it is used by us in common parlance.
