[Non-MSG/No Artificial] How to make homemade Japanese dashi powder | Easy healthy cooking (日本語字幕付き)

We will share how to make homemade Japanese Dashi powder in this video. To use non MSG Japanese Dashi Powder at home, It brings out the flavor of natural taste and natural UMAMI!
Once you make these powder, you can use them for lots of dishes, not only Japanese dishes! You can use them for other cuisines, and one day you might have some ideas that fit your style dishes!
And we will share the recipe that using them, like Miso soup, Udon stock, and Gyu-don (beef rice bowl) etc… in the future.
In this video, we used the microwave but, if you do not like to use it, you can use a flying pan to get ingredients dry instead:)
What is the Dashi?
Japanese Dashi is typically made from fish such as dried bonito flakes or anchovies.
Also, we use kelp (kombu) and dried shiitake mushroom for many Japanese foods which means it's vegetarian friendly.

    Thank you so much! Making dashi from scratch every time or buying expensive packets is inconvenient. I was thinking that store-bought dashi powder seems to be just this: milling the ingredients until they're fine. Thank you for confirming my hypothesis, and I didn't know that konbu & co. need to be dried further, that is very good to know!

    Thanks, I'll do that with some packages I opened of those ingredients that got a bit dried instead of throwing them out. I don't have a microwave. You could make 6 types of dashi with those ingredients.

    with the raw kombu isnt it better to cook it lightly in the oven before grinding?

    Basically we combine in equal by measure. But you can mix anything whatever you want as you like:) Check the description on this video. There are 2 video links in the below that's how we use Dashi powder. We hope you'll enjoy them as well♪♪♪

    It is sooo expensive... Probably that is high grade one?? I live in Canada and I can buy 100g=$25 on Amazon.

    I wasn't able to get the most high quality bonito flakes, but I was able to find a 1 pound bag on Amazon for $25. They look exactly like the ones in this video.

    Its trendy to be MSG intolerant (allergy) but its better than using plain salt, gentler and a much better flavour enhancer.
