I think I am Adriana’s one non-Jewish follower 😂 and I relate to her SO much. I studied a lot about Judaism out of fascination in college and afterwards worked in a clinic with many Orthodox doctors. It was amazing to learn about the religion and culture. I had one Dr who in turn would ask me about Catholic culture (even though I’m ironically non religious) or secular things. A really wonderful opportunity for cross cultural understanding. I got the same questions as Adriana from the Jewish doctors assuming I was also Jewish just because I knew so much (and coincidentally dress tznius w long skirts often just because I’m into vintage fashion). I laughed at the sleeper agent comment because I had a doctor say the same to me, that I could blend in just fine. I really enjoy following her Instagram and loved watching this video. You guys were hilarious- a perfect mix of educational and silly. Now I’m hoping I get into Jewish heaven too hahaha 😂

That's awesome. The core teaching of Judaism is actually a form of counter-religion which might explain why you were fascinated by Judaism while not being a religious Christian.

@@1995yuda Yea I agree, I appreciate that Judaism is all about questioning. The rigidity of one philosophy or a particular priest, leader, etc having the “right” answers is something I always took issue with. Of course all religions have the possibility of religious leaders abusing their positions of power but I think being irreproachable to outside critique fosters that kind of environment much more. Even as somehow who does not practice or believe in religion I can really appreciate many aspects of the urge to philosophize about life’s purpose as well as the associated cultural camaraderie.

Her mother is French and Father Spanish. People converted to Catholic Religion in Spain. So who knows. She looks more Spanish to me. Pope Jon Paul II had a mother in Poland whose parents were Jewish his father Polish/Catholic. His Mother was a school teacher.

Narrish is a German word and means stupid. The jiddish word is adapted from it

The root of the word "Tefilah", is Tfl. The literal meaning of that in Hebrew, is connection. When you pray, you are connected with God. The word "Daven", is in Yiddish. It means "d'AVinon", meaning from my forefathers. It means to say, that they were founded by our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The word "kishka", means "intestines". They used to stuff the intestines of the animal with flour. The reason is a halachic one. Since Shabbos Jews are not supposed to cook, by putting in the kugel with silver foil, it would be considered hatmanah/cooking. Therefore they put the kugel in the intestines, which will hold it together. The intestines, as a part of the food, would not be considered a separate thing as silver foil. It would therefore be allowed. They would really need to clean the intestines, before feeling it. Nowadays it just stayed to be a kugel without the real intestines, and we call it kishka.
