Hi LESSON5, big thx for your great tutorials. Btw I found the reason my digitizer failed. Phone was never in water or fell down, but sometimes the digitizer didn't work. It was a loose connection between the digitizer and the ribbon cable. By appling soft pressure to the area the ribbon cable is connected to the digitizer (seen at 3:20), the digitizer worked perfectly.

Very easy to follow instruction video, phone all good now, thank you! One screw broke while unscrewing, leaving half of it in the steel body frame, but went back together good enough.

Love this. Decided to have a go and replace both screen and digitiser myself. There was a bit of jiggling and juggling but...carefully does it and it all went well. With the daily clundge and dirt etc. the keyboard was a bugger but did, as you say, come away in the end. Saved a bunch of money. Many thanks.

If you have the same problem, first try this before buying a new digitizer: a.) check if the digitizer works when you apply soft pressure to the area between the NOKIA label and the "C3" label on the left top of the screen. Use the back of a screwdriver for that, not your finger! b.) if so, disassemble the phone like in LESSON5s excellent tutorial ..to be continued

great video, thanks a lot. with this video and official nokia manual i'd successfully replace broken digitizer. only one remark: nokia's manual says you need torx t4 screwdriver and i used it instead T5 like it's in this video.

Excellent work-now I want to fix my c3-01 -display works OK but touch screen all over the place - touch for menu opens names-scrolling works but not accurate ie wont open short cuts, wont select the smiley's I choose or punctuation selected seems to select the one next to it or even further !!-is it the digitizer do you think? Appreciate any help - Thanks

Leaving ONE last comment. So @LE55ONS, I've replaced the digitizer with a brand new one I got off of Amazon, and the touchscreen is still unresponsive. The display works perfectly, I can still operate the phone with Nokia suite, it's just the bloody touchscreen. Would you recommend trying to keep fixing it or going to a repair shop? or is there any way to tell if any circuitry is damaged?

Is there any way to export the data from a C3-01 if the screen is broken?

c.) Do you know the small, round, self-adhesive patches made of felt, that you apply to the leg of a chair to prevent the chair scratching your wooden floor? I used such a patch (height around 1mm), cut a small piece (around 2mm x 5mm), and applied it on the area where the ribbon cable is soldered to the touch screen. d.) assemled the phone, works perfect! NOKIA blames the owner for the failures, but it a bad designed connection that looses over time - at least in my case.

lol, I don't know if it would fit but I would try buying a genuine Nokia replacement touch screen. I know they are hard to find but if its genuine the price will be high and the feedback good

the only problem i am having is that i seem to have damaged the two middle screws and find them very difficult to unscrew with the t5, do you have any advice as to get around this issue? any feedback would be much appreciated

I've forgot my c3-01 in my jacket and washed it in the washing machine. I've followed your instruction on how to disassamble the phone and I've cleaned it carrefully as much as I could because it had a lot of detergent in it. Anyway, before and also after cleaning it, when I put the battery in it, the flash turns on and remains like that, but the rest of the functions are unavaiable and it doesn't event turn on. Any suggestions, other than taking it to trash?

I wouldn't worry about protecting it, just keep a spare screen in the cupboard..

here in denmark i got the same model but i had to use a T4 screwdriver

I havent managed to fix the phone. The new touch panel still does not work so there is no way i can access the phone except answer or reject calls with the buttons. Do you think it might be something with the phones pc board/motherboard?

I am having a problem regarding the screws on my nokia c3-01. When i originally received my lcd replacement screen it was accompanied by a t6 screwdriver which i came to find is the wrong one through the video and my own efforts. Due to my own annoyance and impatience, i had a go at unscrewing them with different screwdrivers. This was unsuccessful and i have now purchased a t5 torx screwdriver which worked fine on most of the screws. (see next comment)

I totally understand because sometimes all the moisture is dried up but by that time it clogged the connection with the cell phone and it is just over. But you become so attach oh my goodness I hate that. But that is why the iphone works a lot because you won't lose anything and it is easy to carry along because it is small. I just hate water damages on cell hones.
