Damn I love listening to this man speak his knowledge to people. No one on this planet can out speak this man. Where is his noble peace prize?

I mean, how often has that prize actually gone to someone who actually deserved it? Hell, Hitler was even nominated for it.

Clearly 3 old men were enjoying a nice day in the outdoors, they were confronted by a Chomsky and had no defense other than to sit there and be intellectually steamrolled... I cant imagine a human being with more intellectual might than this guy.

This channel is very good, but there should be dates in the title or in the description. At least the year of the clip. This one seems to be from 1985.

Lots of these old broadcasts on YT aren't dated, which is really annoying. Now it might be that people are digging these old images somewhere and uploading them and are unable to find a date on them themselves.

From the start, the Bolsheviks and the early Soviet Union were isolationist. They had tiny squirmishes like the territorial dispute with Finland but that had more to do with Russian ethnicity than the Soviet Union as a whole. Stalin's hand was forced to enter ww2 which he wasn't even prepared for. Towards the collapse of the USSR, the politburo was reluctant to get involved with Afghanistan because they knew if they got bogged down and word got out to millions of Soviet citizens, then there whole oppressive regime would fall like a house of cards. Instead they tried to support and fought alongside the Afghani communists and the inevitable occurred. There definitely was economical and political reasons why the Soviet Union collapsed but they tried very hard to keep a tight ship by trying to stay out of foreign affairs directly. For decades they tried to build this repressive socialist utopia but it became a pressure cooker and once a breath of democracy and individual freedom and doubt of the current system got into the pot, the lid blew off.

@@kerimozdemir4009 Trotsky was constantly complaining that Stalin didn’t want „permanent revolution“ and wanted „socialism in one country“ and was isolationist. So I guess Trotsky was lying to everyone. The issue is why would anyone believe what you are saying when there isn’t a shred of evidence for your claim Snd plenty of evidence that Stalin was isolationist.

The fact that Chomsky is considered to be philosopher reflects 2 things: 1) That American society is deeply conservative and the ''progressive'' counterweight is..Chomsky, who has adopted anti-soviet(anti-communist) propaganda 100% + 2) The low class consciousness our world has, fact that is connected to the counter-revolution of '89-'91 and the temporary defeat of the new society. Socialism proved its superiority, proved that the only way to go History a step forward is to socialize the means of production!
