Great reaction Zack! That you knew the backstory to Narges Hammadi is impressive. There’s actually more to the story of THIS performance. This song, although it at first glance seems like a simple love story, was written for the movie “Unchained.” The plot behind Unchained has similarities to Narges’ actual circumstances. She is still imprisoned in Iran and her teenage twins (a son and a daughter) haven’t seen her in 9 years. They were at this ceremony to receive the award in her honor, and Angelina was singing directly to the two of them. Angelina’s Grandma Mery Zamani is Iranian so this ceremony means SO much to Angelina and her family. I highly recommend that you watch a wonderful video created by James Theil. It has all of this detailed information plus a whole lot more. Here’s the link to his wonderful video: m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/hmqd07Z8gMivdpc.html&pp=ygUsQW5nZWxpbmEgam9yZGFuIHVuY2hhaW5lZCBtZWxvZHkgamFtZXMgdGhlaWw%3D There’s a bit of text to catch - be prepared to pause briefly. 😉🫶

This person is Angelina Jordan. The greatest storytelling vocalist of all time is often described as an artist who possesses not only an exceptional vocal ability but also the power to convey profound narratives through music. This vocalist would have a deep understanding of the human experience, enabling them to connect with listeners on an emotional level. Their voice would be versatile, capable of expressing a wide range of emotions, from joy to sorrow, and everything in between. They would be a master of phrasing, timing, and expression, using their talents to bring stories to life in a way that resonates with audiences across generations. Such a vocalist would leave a lasting impact on the world of music, remembered not just for their voice, but for the stories they told and the hearts they touched. While opinions on who this might be can vary, figures like Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley are often cited for their unparalleled contributions to music and their ability to tell a story through song. I would have given anything to have seen the reactions of Narges Mohammadi’s children, Kiana and Ali, there in the audience, as Angelina seemed to take on the persona of their imprisoned mother, whom they had not seen in years, delivering a heart-tearing message of love, loss, longing and hope to her children, with a level of reverence, gentleness, empathy and compassion that no other artist could achieve. Perfect song choice, perfect delivery, perfect artist.

This performance tells you, or confirms for you, several things about Angelina. First, she can sing any genre, in her own way, and knock it out of the park. Secondly, Angelina embodies class and gives us a perfect vocal choice for the occasion. And she also always respects the original music, but still gives us her take which we will remember as her version of an iconic song. She honors the occasion, the Nobel recipient, and the purpose of the award.

Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here in December 2023 at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness are inspirational, as Angelina always reminds us. We angels, and all others must honor Angelina, and those who represent our values, by doing all we can to help, and be kind to others. Even the smallest gestures can make a difference. Thank you for providing artist links to the official channel and video in your description, and encouraging your viewers to use those links as you do for your own channel. That will help ensure her success and her goal of spreading peace and love to the world.

This is Angelina Jordan the most extraordinary storyteller in my lifetime. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize Dec. 2023 Unchained Melody (AJ, at the age of 17 performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony December 2023 in Oslo, Norway) I watched as Angelina Jordan stepped onto the stage, her presence commanding attention. The room hushed, anticipation hanging in the air like a delicate thread. She stood there, a young girl with an old soul, ready to weave magic with her voice. As the first notes of "Unchained Melody" filled the room, time seemed to slow. Angelina's voice wrapped around each word, infusing them with a depth that transcended mere lyrics. It was as though the song had been written for her, and her alone. The audience held its breath as she sang. Her voice soared, reaching heights that touched the heavens. The pain and longing in her eyes mirrored the emotions in the song-the heartache, the yearning. It was more than a performance; it was a revelation. The chorus came, and Angelina's voice swelled, filling every corner of the room. " Oh, my love, my darling I've hungered, hungered for your touch," she sang, and suddenly, we all felt the real meaning of the words. The magic in her performance was like nothing we had ever experienced in our lives. The lyrics came alive and had meaning as they flowed through us. In that moment, Angelina Jordan became a vessel for something greater-an embodiment of love itself. Her voice carried us beyond our own pain and loneliness. We felt connected-to her, to each other, to something intangible yet profound. As she held that final note, time snapped back into place. The applause erupted-a thunderous acknowledgment of what we had just witnessed. But it wasn't just applause; it was gratitude-for allowing us to glimpse love and longing through Angelina's eyes. And so, we stood there, hearts full, tears in our eyes. Angelina Jordan had given us something rare-a reminder that love exists even in our brokenness. And for those few minutes, we believed it with every fiber of our being. (CopyRight)

Context is everything. Angelina's always knows the history behind songs she chooses. The original was from a film about a man in prison longing for his loved ones. Angelina chose it because the prize winner has children who are living in France. So it is her way of honoring the recipient. Her children attended the ceremony. Angelina is extremely sensitive to the pain of separation. Grandma Mery is from Iran. No doubt it has deep meaning for her.

Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges was, at the time of this tribute, on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". "Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

Absolutely stunning performance from Angelina, I imagine she is is so honoured and proud to be performing at this event in her home country Norway with the Norwegian Kork orchestra, not the first time Angelina has performed at the Nobel peace concert the last was in 2014 with her performance at 10 years old of ( What A Wonderful World),also Angelina has collaborated with the Norwegian Kork orchestra before, once with her arrangement of ( Summertime) and again with her performance of ( Back To Black ) both times Angelina was 10 years old,Angelina’s Grandmother Mery Zamani is a talented Iranian 🇮🇷 artist and poet so there is also a connection with the winner of the Nobel Peace Award, great reaction thanks 🙏

RE: rant on Nobel Prize Winners .. specifically Narges Mohammadi .. remember that Angelina's grandmother Mery - another prodigy .. is Iranian .. which makes Angelina 1/4 Iranian. I believe she speaks Farsi. Ms Mohammadi's 17 year old twins were sitting right in front of Angelina .. that is who she looked down at with her hand over her heart at the end. .. oh oh .. and this took place in Oslo, Norway .. which happens to be Angelina's birth city.

Yes, Farsi is apparently one of 3 languages that Angelina speaks fluently. It is assumed that she spoke Farsi to the little girl that she gave her shoes to. We have heard her speak Norwegian in recent times but it’s possible she has not spoken Farsi in a while.

Beautiful reaction, thanks Zack. The ability this girl has to captivate and move the people who listen to her is absolutely incredible, as is her sensitivity in choosing and interpreting the song for this ceremony. This performance of her is fascinating and wonderfully intimate, she reinterpreted this legendary song and adapted it perfectly to the emotion of the homage to the painful story of Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way 7 years after the last time and in the same studio and certainly also with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps towards his musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and wonderfully "unchained", the only singer who at only 17 years old has already sung on 2 different occasions at the celebrations of Nobel Prizes.💛🧡❤

Great reaction. This performance took place last December when Angelina was still 17. In case you are not aware, this song is originally from the 1955 film Unchained. 10 years before the famous Righteous Brothers version. In the film a prisoner is singing to a loved one. Saying he’ll be coming home and to wait for him. Very appropriate for the occasion as the Iranian woman currently imprisoned has not seen her husband or children in years

Nobel Peace Prize is presented in Oslo, Norway and the others I believe are presented in Stockholm, Sweden. She is so talented there is a behind the scenes video of her working with the director of KORK (Norwegian Radio Orchestra) and a pianist doing the arrangement for this performance. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gpOXtqmMkaW8etI.htmlsi=0uE48FOz9QB15QyI She crushed the ending! They kept this rendition subdued because of the occasion. Angelina and KORK just did a magnificent rendition of Unchained Melody! The perfect song for Narges Mohammadi Nobel Peace Prize! Third time with KORK, she did Back to Black and Summertime when she was 10! Has been invited twice to Nobel Peace Prize, previously appeared when she was eight! Narges is in jail for leading the fight for women’s rights in Iran! And let’s not forget Angelina’s Iranian heritage and Oslo is her hometown! At the end Angelina puts her hand over her heart acknowledging Narges children who were on stage and happen to be Angelina’s age and are living in exile in France! Would recommend her new unreleased original song: Princess of Ruins! Angelina debuted the song at her recent Las Vegas, Nevada concert, she tells the story why she performs barefoot on stage! Angelina stated “It is part of her identity and she will always perform barefoot.” Princess Of Ruins: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nJae3KqSetiqmrQ.htmlsi=k-uMgT04l79gsUHJ
