Ughh im so sad that morgan didnt make it to worlds but she seemed really inconsistent this year so i hope she takes some time to gain some confidence and have a rest. Also im so happy for Lele making to worlds!! i didnt think that it was going to be possible for her this year

Hey can I ask how she qualified? I don’t know how it works in China and if it’s via nationals? I can’t seem to find the information and/or don’t know how to find them

uriah prior there were 2 test in August and September, she didn’t do well in the 2nd test but came 3rd aa in the last test. You could say that she was added to the team in last minute. The nationals is supposed to be a test event too but she didn’t compete due to injury recovery.

I think Morgan not making worlds might be a blessing in disguise. After watching qualifications, I think I see an opening for her at the Olympic trials.

@@Olympics Yes, it is a scary sport. But as a gymnast myself, I can tell you it is not normal to come that close to the edge of the vault platform. The gymnast's hands should be on top of the vault and in the middle, on that particular skill.

My heart hurt so bad for Morgan after the FX routine night one. It hurt even more when she was named an alternate for the world’s team. I really can’t wait to see what she pulls out next year, I wanna see her in Tokyo so bad.

Hurd was inconsistent for the 3 meets and at the worlds selection camp. That's why she didn't make it to worlds. For Hurd to make it on the Olympics team, she would need to be consistent and increase her difficulty. There are a lot of younger gymnasts coming up in the U.S. that have the difficulty, consistency and execution score.

Really I think morgan is burnt out with all these Meets. I really wish as well she did not agree to this show she needs to focus. She does not need a camera in her face. If i was her coach rest up and start January start the procedures for the upgrades. We know she is a fighter. Only 4 girls will be on that team.

I wish she had sat out the Pan American games. It would have meant she was less burnt out when prepping for Worlds. And look at Riley and Shilese. The schedule this year for all of the gymnasts was unnecessarily busy.

@@MD-722 i know you didn't ask me but as much as i dont want to say it, china and us doesnt really need lele or morgi. Morgan's main events are Bars and AA but the us have better and more consistent options. And for lele, while she does have the highest BB d score in the world, they dont exactly need it as when their juniors turn senior next year, china will have a total of two 6.8, one 6.7 and one 6.6 which are some of the highest d scores. But for gelya, russia needs her experience and consistency(even if she isnt that consistent)

@@Nicole-db2ub I believe we need to see what will happen with Morgan. Its not over until its over. As for Melnikova she's had an incredible growth in these 2 years and I think we can say that now she is one of the most consistent female gymnasts. Unbelievable how she went from falling in every routine to hitting everything.

@@Nicole-db2ubThree weeks later and sorry for the late reply, but without further ado! In the case of Chen, I really do think it will be down to how well she recovers from injury. After having watched this year's world championships where we saw the spectacular break-out performance of Tang Xijin, but via the withdrawal of Liu TingTing. I really think it will be matter of just whatever will be for the girls of the Chinese team. But in the case of Hurd. People really need to lay of doubting this girl and actually look at her track record. She has 5 world championships medals, two of which are all-around medals, with silvers on floor and beam. This alongside her participation in this summer's competition marathon has actually made her one of the most decorated and experienced gymnasts on the U.S. team. No she hasn't had the greatest year, but with her current credentials, filming this series and this summer's marathon, I don't blame her for downgrading and even sitting out worlds, she had the least to prove. Because another thing about Hurd is that she tends to peak in the last minute. So if she paces herself and trains smart, I absolutely see her going making the Tokyo team next year.

Morgan could make it, she can do it!

Not necessarily! Yes, Morgan's been inconsistnt lately, but the Olympics is still nearly a year off, anything can happen. And since she had the Classics, Pan Am Games and Nationals in such quick succession, I think she was just worn out. I hope that in a way, missing Worlds will be good for her, so she can rest up, train well, and come back with a bang.

You know. I see a pattern. It’s with Rebecca Bross, Kyla Ross, and what I was starting to get concerned about with Morgan. Rebecca Bross was the second best gymnast in the world in 2009, 3rd best in 2010, and got injured to not make the 2011 world team, and to miss the 2012 olympics. Kyla was on the 2012 team, but the pattern is that she also got 2nd at the 2013 worlds, 3rd at the 2014 worlds to not have made the 2015 worlds or the 2016 olympics. Now with Morgan it broke with her being the best in the world in 2017 not second best, but she would have if Regan had competed, then last year she placed 3rd. So I honestly don’t think Morgan is going to make the olympics. Thanks for reading all of this if you are still here.

its still possible. Deng linlin(chn) didn't make the worlds team in 2011 but a year later she became olympic champion on beam lol

Rather bummed Morgan didn't make it.Seems a bit weird.I'm no expert...having just being turned on to this sport after seeing Kaitlin Ohashi's viral vids.I can't get enough of this....I've downloaded tons of stuff going back years.All these girls are incredible.I looked up the final scores for the world team selection.....Morgan came in 5th over all.....the other girls who came in above her (except of coarse Simone)........all had one high score out of all the different events above Morgan's......but below in most of the rest.While Morgan seemed inconsistent in the vids posted.......the numbers seem to indicate the other girls were just as inconsistent......really ...more so.I just wonder if it's not a case of "Hollywood" or image that enters into the equation.......I mean......she's got glasses.....isn't blonde.......etc etc......she always seemed rather the hard working quiet type.....in the background.....not really there for the glam.If thats the case.......well.....that kind of thinking usually comes back to bite you.

In gymnastics and figure skating, I prefer more artistry and less acrobatics. I like seeing the happier, older gymnasts (NCAA) doing well, and not injuring themselves left and right, in the pursuit of a medal. It's sad when the girls have to suffer social isolation, and be forced into homeschooling or live far away from home/family, to succeed. I know it's what they want for themselves, but still sad.

La pelea hoy en dia es por el primer y segundo lugar, que tambien son muy importantes, porque no todos los días ganas una medalla mundial o olimpica. Lo interesante es que la competencia por esos lugares es mucha y cualquiera puede ganar depende si tiene un buen dia o no. Ya para los fans el primer lugar siempre va a estar ocupado por Simone con la excepción de viga o asimetricas que no se sabe.

Morgan always being playing it safe. When r u just gonna go all out. She is no longer good enough to be on the US team there are other better than her. Not suprise she didnt make worlds.
