Thanks for this troubleshooting list.. Trying to get my 1994 Indy Trail started this season. Usually no troubles, but no spark now. Was thinking bad CDI, but need to check the plug boots first, & go from there. I really didn't know those boots were replaceable. Thanks again.

thanks for the vid, my 2007 ski doo 600 ho sdi was running on 1 cylinder and i checked the spark plug boots and i check the connection for the boot and it was caked with dirt and i've cleaned it and it was firing better than ever

Hi Lynne, No spark?? Cdi box, wire issues, or Stator problem..... Could be coil pack or voltage regulator... For sure no SPARK???????

I have a 2003 ski doo rev 600 HO, Sometimes I had no spark but if I messed with my tether it’d work, but now it’s flat dead, any idea on what could be happening?

Have you tried to figure out away to by pass the tether to see if it will run? Then you know need a new tether switch... some of the older ones you can loop the signal....

gotta 80 something articat 580 and i just got 2 used functioning stators and magnets for 40 bucks. lol

Voltage regulator should not affect spark, CDI should be on the list

My polaris that ran on a arctic cat engine use to run without a voltage regulator, it just had no headlight and tail light. On the other hand, my skidoo 800 had no spark at all until I installed a new voltage regulator 😕 I guess it could be a/the problem on different types of sleds.

@@eskimo1000 I think the newer sleds are so computerized now that they can detect if the voltage regulator is working or not working properly... I'm curious what year was the skidoo vs polaris/cat???

@@KcYukon very true that diagnosis is just a matter of hooking it up to a computer. My polaris body is a 2004 trail touring and the engine is a 2007 arctic cat 570f. While my skidoo is a 2001 grand touring 800se

@@eskimo1000 Interesting... Yea skidoo might have programmed the ECU or computer on it to say if this is not present do not send spark until regulator is working... That polaris with cat engine did you do the mod yourself how did things line up bolts to the engine and frame... You must have had to make some custom brackets I would think??

I was riding and my sled ran a little rough then died

check for spark? bad fuel? hard to say but those are the places I would look....

Soo just through parts at it till they work?? Lol better of watching s video of somebody knowledgeable on diagnosis

I do this as a hobby if you don't like it I can just ban you from the channel if you prefer... then you never have to watch again!!!
