FluffyCatGirl1 Exactly. Like in 'Wolves' by Rag 'n' Bone Man, the rap was absolutely awful. It ruined what was otherwise a brilliant song, but he made a version without it (which I have on my iPod). You may have heard of this song; it was used as the trailer music for the Poldark series :)

I'll always remember this song at the end of Fast and Furious 7. I ended up tearing up a little and my dad poking fun of me for it, in a loving way of course. This also hits different when you’ve lost someone that really meant a lot to you, I can’t listen to this song without crying anymore. But that’s fine because it makes me remember all the fun times I’ve had with them.

I completely agree. No offense to Wiz Khalifa, but I think the verses and pre-chorus in this version are far superior. I've always found the whole "how can we not talk about family" line to be a bit cheesy and out of place. The verses in this version are *brutal,* because they are the exact sentiments you have when you're grieving. Both versions are good, the one with Wiz is just a bit more lighthearted and doesn't capture the true weight of losing someone.

After my real father left and betrayed me when I was little. My Grandfather helped raise me I live with him all my youth. This is so much better than the version with the rap, its so much more moving, you can almost hear the pain in Charlie's voice in each word, and the whole message of "This isn't goodbye, just see you next time." Dølan Døbre be grateful that you don’t have that pain. When you have it, you’re never the same. It destroys you and it’s painful to rebuild. At least, that’s my experience. I wake up every single blasted day, just hoping that the pain goes away, but it never does. I realize how alone I really am. It never gets easier, especially when that feeling of displacement slaps me in the face. I’ve lost all but one neglectful and selfish grandparent, three great-grandparents, two sisters, and my best friend - most in the same decade. That last one hurts the most - he was so young and innocent, and didn’t deserve what he got. In a way, I’m the reject because of circumstances that were beyond my control in my family. No one cares about me - three people excluded in all my life. I’m lucky to have those people involved at all, and I’m related to two of them. The last person I’m not sure feels the same way about me. As you can plainly see, my experience with pain is extensive and extreme. Of course, as I write this, I realize that people are the most selfish creatures on Earth - someone dies, and we grieve for the loss in our lives, especially if they’ve suffered. Maybe I’m cynical, but I, despite the knife in my chest, find comfort in the pain - at least I know those memories were real. It’s proof that those I listed were involved in my life and, though they’re gone, I don’t have any choice but to think of them as life marches on - nor would I. Even though it’s never easy, even when years later you learn to smile in the rain, when the unfortunate inevitable happens, my advice is, pain is healthy. Even when the spirit-crushing loneliness comes, embrace the hurt - especially if that person has suffered for a long time. Pain is constant, yes, and you’ll feel like your life is a matchstick house. Don’t be afraid of it - pain means that you weren’t alone once. And whatever you do, always, ALWAYS, keep those memories close - chances are that they may be your best comfort.

You don't have to be so hard on yourself we all in this together. We just don't know whom to talk to or what's wanna be right for us. But believe me in the end everyone gets what they deserve. I'm just saying all this just I feel what other doesn't. I'm 19 and I have serve spine disease since last 5 years I was not able to walk but now it's getting better. I'm recovering but sometimes even I think I don't have that much time cuz doctors have told me that you won't be able to walk after next 4 years. Ahhh it's okie whatever is gonna happen it will happen I'm okay with it and I'm good. So just be okay.

It's not a shame to have feelings...

The rap version is also sentimental to me. I’m open to all genres and I appreciate the sentimentality behind both of these versions. It doesn’t objectively ruin it, nor make it objectively better. Both are really beautiful. The rap version brought tears to men I’ve never seen cry. If it brought you together to mourn, that in itself is a gift. I love when we can stop treating each other like shit from preconceived notions over social media. I catch myself seeing some of you express your losses. I do love you all even though I’ve never seen most - if not - none of you. You are a human made of the same components as me. Just different combinations. We may grieve different but we’re all capable of feeling the same pain.

I'm gonna sing this at my mom's funeral. She was a wonderful woman and deserves a beautiful send off like this

"The people who really love us never really leave us." I truly do believe this line. People we love always stay with us in form of memories in our heart. They might not be in the same world with us but the things they said always guide us through our problems. ❤

I am sorry your body wasn't functioning properly. You held our family together. You were the best grandma ever. But you can look down on me. And i can wait here until you come home.
